It's like he's talking and sighing at the same time. I'll see it, why the hell not.

In 1997, they came out with an animated version of MIB.
MIB II was not that good, but, if they had taken some of the storylines from the animated series, it could of been better.

Should've gotten Javier Bardem as an alien cameo...

isn't this the same plot as the second austin powers movie?

Well hopefully by now, they've written the rest of the movie.

tlchwi02: isn't this the same plot premise as the second austin powers movie?

FTFY. That, a few dozen other movies and at least six episodes of ST:TNG. That's not the point. The point is where they take the premise and what they do with it.

Yeah but tired premise is tired.

I hope Tommy Lee Jones is in it for more than a cameo. He's easily the "better half" of the two. His dead pan delivery is a good foil for Smith's shuckin' n' jivin'.

And they're going to revive Rip Torn for at least a few minutes of screen time, aren't they?

Wasn't this the plot to the recent season of Doctor Who?

/1969 is surprisingly popular right now, it seems
//yes, I've seen the Dalek props they used in the movie already
/might see this in theaters

I'll watch it.

I love TLJ and this series, which has its moments of meh, is still a good guilty pleasure to watch.

I'd argue that the first movie is a superb comic-to-screen adaptation and besides a more than decent scifi action flick with hilarious, memorable performances all around, popcorn-obliterating special effects, and above average writing.

But the real question is: will Tony Shaloub get his due? [checks IMDb] Nope. [sadface]

It's alright.. though I've seen the second enough times on cable that it's hard to remember the first. The 'worm guys' started speaking English in the second, and got a lot more 'hip'. Jones as a mind-wiped postal worker was pretty good.

It was pretty bad, yes. They spent half the movie getting TLJ back (brilliant idea "killing him off" in the first one like you thought there weren't going to be sequels) and the rest of it was just over-the-top stupidity. I know it's a comedy about aliens but we're talking a dog in a suit and Johnny Knoxville stupidity. I don't quite remember the plot but it was convoluted and lame. Rosario Dawson was in it but she didn't get naked or anything, obviously.

Yes. It was absolutely terrible. Even the fully assimilated second generation Puerto Rican geek-hotness of Rosario Dawson couldn't save that pile of cinematic upchuck.

I'm 43 and I still get carded. At least when I have my hair all cut off. I've had grey since I was 30, otherwise you couldn't tell.

34 and gets carded too. Except at the liquor store of course. I know everyone by name there.
