The pregame for this is going to be EPIC. Six studio analysts, two on-field analysts, and three guys in the booth desperately trying to sell this dog. That's an entire starting XI of Very Special Teams players trying to fill 90 minutes of airtime without breaking down laughing or crying.

I'd propose a drinking game, but I suspect I would be unconscious well before kickoff.

Betting on this crap game is precisely why betting was invented. Its the only thing that will make it interesting...

/will be betting on it.

The Seahawks are at home and the Rams don't have any healthy quarterbacks. The Seahawks are going to cover this line by the middle of the second quarter without breaking a sweat.

2011-12-12 04:22:36 PM
I'll be watching. The DeMarco Murray injury likely killed any chances of advancing in the fantasy playoffs. I need 18 defensive points from Seattle to pull out the W. Considering they are playing the Rams, I think I've still got a faint chance.

2011-12-12 04:26:50 PM
The only vested interest I have in tonight's game is the possibility of a Rams loss and the subsequent firing of Steve Spagnuolo.

2011-12-12 04:34:28 PM
I need 20 pts out of Steve Jackson for a ffb playoff win

Add "and a move to LA", and most of STL would be just peachy.

Game won't be as bad as people think. Trollhawks are a pretty fun team to watch with some exceptions(Browns vs. Seahawks. Ye gods, Browns vs. Seahawks. A Seahawks team without Lynch is a sad team indeed).

If you're in round one of the playoffs and you have Marshawn Lynch or Stephen Jackson, you're interested.

This. It should be pretty easy.

/also, article writer, A.J. Feeley is the Rams backup QB. Jay Feely is a kicker (don't know or care where he's kicking now...I just know that I'd definitely bet on the Seahawks if HE were kicking for the Rams based on his past kicking against the Seahawks.

I need a whopping 7 pts out of Steven Jackson for a playoff win, yet somehow I'm not entirely comfortable thinking he'll get it for me.

Nonsense. Jay Feely is a force.

Well let's see...I'm a Seahawks fan plus I have Lynch and Seattle D needing 20 points combined for the win this week. So yeah, I'm interested.

2011-12-12 06:06:47 PM
hell, it just dawned on me.. the Jay Feely Game occurred exactly one year ago today

2011-12-12 06:08:29 PM
Both teams deserve to lose.

2011-12-12 06:09:19 PM
StL is near the bottom of league in rushD DVOA, SEA is near bottom of the league in rushO DVOA.
yet SEA is #1 in power rush, and StL is mediocre against power rush and between the tackles in general not to mention terrible in open field yards given up and almost never generates stuffs

This could get beast-mode ugly, really fast.

The Bestest: hell, it just dawned on me.. the Jay Feely Game occurred exactly one year ago today

I remember it, if only because the Bronco fans in attendance began chanting for Tebow as soon as Feely ran in the fake FG for the touchdown. What a glorious day in an otherwise atrocious season it 'twas.

Damn, you must have a teeny weenie to be able to fit it into a toaster.

I'll be watching to the end, due to fake football. I have Darian Stewart and he has Chris Long and a two point lead in an IDP league.
Plus I have not yet seen the Rams play this year, and I like some of their players.

You have to be pretty crazy to lay 10 points with the Seahawks (against anyone), i'm taking the points and parlaying it to the under

When Murray went down, so did my season- I was steadily gaining, and then it was over. My wife is in your situation now- though she only needs 10, and in our league they start with 12, and get 2 for picks, 2 for FF, and 1 for sacks.

I think she's a lock.

The Seahawks played that game without Jackson or Lynch and without any kind of offensive identity. Charlie Whitehurst fumbled twice, got intercepted and threw at a blazing 40% completion rate. That will not happen again.

Just going to go ahead and point out to subby, as the article did, that the main reason this game is not getting any kind of money laid on it is because dut to the Rams QB injury issues, it hasn't been posted at many sports books all week. It's not because gamblers aren't interested in it. Gamblers will bet on anything.

He won't get benched if the ankle holds up, but it probably won't take much abuse at all to get him gimpy

I'm sure some good bank could be made on SEA, the under and the over on total yards for Marshawn Lynch. Does Spagnolo even get on the plane after this one? Speaking of which (and forgive the mild threadjack) who do they think will fill the 6-7 job openings in the offseason? Gruden reupped with ESPN, Cowher wants too much and Parcells is all old Don Ciccio at this point. There aren't that many assistants to get excited over either.

Yeah, that was my thinking with the "yet." Wait until Seattle gets through the O-line a couple times, then we'll see the man, the myth throwing warmups on the sideline, lol.

Haters gonna hate. The Seahawks quietly have one of the younger and more talented defenses in the league, a unit that's coming together fast. Nice up-and-comers in the secondary -- people know about Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor by now, but look out for rookie Richard Sherman, thrown into a starting CB role due to injuries, and he might never give it back. (It's been nice having your around, Mr. Trufant. Well, bye.) The run defense contines to rate as one of the league's best (new window) as well. They put it all together by beating the crap out of Philly a week and a half ago -- admittedly not a tough task -- and look to continue their growth this week. They'll give up some yards through the air, but generate enough big plays to offset it. The team will still struggle offensively, with 3 of their 5 starting offensive linemen (notably including Russell Okung) and their #1 receiver all on injured reserve, but I'd say they have more than enough to roll the Rams tonight.

Funny thing is that this game was poised to be good in the preseason. The "team of the next decade" Rams with Bradford versus the defending division champ in a December showdown.

At least it's not snowing tonight. We've got a bad track record with Monday Night games and snow.

nobodies giving the rams a chance so far . . . so i'm going to bet $5,000 fake dollars on the rams winning.

I'd say that this won't be as big of a factor as many believe. The zone blocking scheme in the run game simplifies the job a lot and allows for the kind of player movement that has happened. I'd imagine that we'll see a lot of short roputes in the passing game to account for the severe lack of decent pass blocking and T-Jack's pec. They may rely on Baldwin to break some decent gains on his own from quick slants.

Steven Jackson is the Fred Jackson of FFL. A good game, a hammy, 6 games later a good game, a knee, 4 games later a beast, and 4 games of crap.

Can't blame ya there, with a choice of Morris Claiborne or Justin Blackmon the #2 pick would at least address one of the two biggest needs on the team. Or getting the Redskins to over pay them badly for it and get more bodies in.

Down by 35 and I have Lynch going. Not looking good. Doesn't matter anyway, as am 11-2 and have the #1 seed in the playoffs. And I am $130 in the black.

I know. No one cares, blah blah blah.
