Well, of course Obama will win. With no liberals in the race, running against wing nuts, how can he lose?

2011-12-12 01:31:08 AM
And I meant no liberals, on either side.

2011-12-12 02:10:18 AM
I used to believe in a balance between Republicans and Democrats in government. But the Republicans are now so completely awful that I actually hope the Democrats take over both houses of Congress as well as the Presidency so we can finally get some things accomplished. As it is, with all the Republican obstructionism, we're circling the drain.

2011-12-12 02:22:19 AM
We wont have another 1 term president without them dying in office -or a revolution.

Two term presidents are too advantageous for the 1%.

Bill Hicks wasnt actually making a joke when he said this: link (new window).

Headline is ten words too long.

Any objective observer will call the Presidential race for the incumbent given the current field of "challengers". I mean, what sitting President couldn't fight off a bigot-cheater-ethically and morally defunct candidate such as Gingrich. On the other side you have a Mormon so the religious sect that dominates the Republicans will ensure his doom from the start.

2011-12-12 09:24:21 AM
The election is still 11 months away...

Fox News is stunned because they get all of their information from Fox News.

/echo....echo....echo...

It's fun watching them when they stick their heads out of the echo chamber and get clubbed by facts.

Not because Obama is so great, it's because the GOP candidates are so farking bad.

So long as the GOP caters to the religious right and continues to push their moral/social agenda...they'll be irrelevant.

FOX News is agit-prop for old white people.

Before Herman Cain, I would have agreed with you on this. Now, though, if the southern man is ready to embrace an African American candidate, I am not so sure that Romney's mormonism will be the turn-off the Democrats are hoping for

That's pretty damn relevant to any conservative/right-of-center candidate if they are going to field their own candidate or use their numbers as leverage to influence the GOP platform, but it is pretty much irrelevant to their left-of-center rivals.

Eh, in fairness, a black President is no longer "shocking", "scary" or out of the realm of possibility -- they've had 3 years to adjust to that idea, so while they may not like it, it's not like electing a big, scary Mormon for the first time.

That's how I see it, anyway.

There is no left of center anymore. As I stated above, with no possible liberal running, I have no dogs in this fight. I'll just sit here and watch.

Yup...what the GOP needs is more than just a candidate...they need a superhero. a HUNTS-MAN!!! *triumphant fanfare*

HUNTS-MAN!!! Can leap over a stack of appropriations bills with a single bound!

Heh... Someone at FOX must have forgot to reverse the percentages.

How anyone can watch those three twats every morning is beyond me.

Doocy looks and acts like he's suffered some kind of traumatic brain injury.

Kilmeade reminds of the jock in high school who's life peaked when he was 17 and now sells cars at his dad's lot.

And Carlson's pretty much the blond bimbo eye candy that's apparently contracted into every Fox "News" show...

What's that, you say? Where does HUNTS-MAN!!! get his super powers? Why, magic underwear, of course!

You know, I have nothing against Mormons in any particular way -- they're kind of interesting, as religions go (they have some really, really strange ideas). Part of me always wonders if Romney and Huntsman actually do have their special underwear on under their suits, or if they're more.... I don't know, moderate? Like someone who would identify as a Christian but not wear a cross or go to church, something like that?

After a long and hard day fighting his arch-nemesis, N.O. Bama... (*cackling maniacal laughter* Hahahahahaha!!! TAX 'EM! TAX 'EM ALLLLL!! AAAHAHAHAHA!!!!), HUNTS-MAN loves to sit down to a nice hamburger covered with HUNT'S KETCHUP!!1!

When that 25% of the electorate is considered repugnant and morally ignorant by the other 75%, yeah they might well be.

Not all Christians wear crosses. I never do and likely never will; while I find nothing innately offensive about them (like some very conservative Protestant denominations), the idea of using crosses as personal decorations (as opposed to paintings, wall hangings, magnets etc to remind oneself of what is important) *is* offensive to me. I also won't put them on my car or clothing without an important accompanying message (for example, I wouldn't mind getting this (new window) shirt, to start conversations - but this (new window) one seems rather self-congratulatory/prideful to me.)

Repugnant? Not so much. But calling themselves followers of Christ and advocating what they do, that holds them up for ridicule.

Or, you know, you could research non-party candidates that echo your political views then work to start a grass roots campaign to bring awareness to that candidate. YouTube is a great way of getting the message out. If all the "meh, I don't like the two party candidates and Dancing With The Stars is on so I'm not gonna vote" kids actually got off their asses and voted for somebody else you'd start to see real change.

I suggest using the available social media to unite all the meh-heads behind a single candidate who is not from either of the two parties. Any candidate but everyone unites behind that candidate. He still won't stand a hope in hell of winning but if enough people vote for this candidate as a "None Of The Above" option it will give a clear message to the two parties that most people are truly dissatisfied with the two parties jockeying for power right now. To the politicians staying home and not voting simply means "I don't like either of the two choices but I do like the system as a whole". In other words, by not voting you're sending the message "I'm insignificant enough to ignore". I'm sure a few minutes on Google could supply you with a suitable "none of the above" candidate. A few blog posts, tweets, youtube videos etc should get the ball rolling. You might even get Anonymous on your side.

Or, you know, you could sit on the chesterfield eating cheetos. That might work too.

Actually, I'd be fine with a "None of the above" ballot. Both parties are wholly owned subsidaries of whatever interest. But our masters won't allow that.

The MAKE one. Find a candidate to make your "None of the above" candidate. Or if you really want to get involved become that candidate. Create a "None of the above" party. A party of candidates who know they don't stand a hope in hell of running but run as a way for people to make their dissatisfaction known.

If you stay home and don't vote then you have simply cast your vote for the status quo. If you are genuinely dissatisfied with the current state of affairs then it's up to you to do something about it.

If a "none of the above" candidate ever received even 15% of the votes you can bet the politicians would start to pay attention.

No shiat... If Obama manages to get reelected, the gnashing of teeth and ripping of hair coming from the GOP will be ridiculous.

I'm actually a little curious to see how much more depraved and deranged these folks can get...

This is also a poll amongst their own people. So out of the people who watch Fox News and took this poll, 44% say Obama will win.

No, no you don't. The republicans have been pulling the Bolshevik strategy, where the minority party names themselves the majority party. If reality sets in, it won't be pretty.

Oh it will. Baptists of the freeper ilk constantly harp on about how Mormons are "not Christians". Plus as the implementer of Romneycare in MA, he cannot sweep that under the rug, either.
