DIckman's: "Nobody beats their meat"

2011-12-11 01:23:58 PM
Dickman's Meat is a nice deli, but they don't hold a candle to Gash's Tuna Emporium.

2011-12-11 01:25:42 PM
Put Dickman's meat in your mouth and savor the flavor and juices.

My knowledge of the existence of Dickman's Meat has made my day better.

Do they sell T-shirts?

I never sausage a thing.

ten foiled hats: Do they sell T-shirts?

Yes, they do. No witty euphemisms on them though.

An actual slogan used by a local place called City BBQ in their radio ads.

"City BBQ, where you can't beat the meat!"

They do have the best brisket I've ever tasted.

I'm sure it's good and all, but this time of the year you can't beat some hot Dickin's Cider...

None needed. The name says it all.

Wow, I live a mile from there and I had no idea this was happening. I'm glad to see they're staying open. That strip mall's lost a bunch of businesses in the last year or two, and while they mostly failed due to their own fail, this is the first I've heard of business being chased out.

/ There's not enough room there for a quarter-size Walmart
// WTF are they thinking
/// Berkshire Village is living down to its name, I guess

tl;dr: dick and meat are two words that mean penis, which a man has

2011-12-11 02:09:08 PM
I hardly ever go on the east side. A new Wal-Mart you say; doesn't surprise me.

Last I remember, I think there was a comic book store close by "Heroes & Villains", is it still there?.

Wal-mart. Farking Wal-mart. Sam Walton should have been impotent...and a bad businessman!

CygnusDarius: "Heroes & Villains",

On Broadway near Swan...

Bought a silencer from Tucson Guns and Western Artifacts near Dickman's...

it's sad when a long time business has to move, the place will never be the same all because some big piece of shiat crap store

I live just around the corner from there - Dickman's has the best ready-to-char animal flesh anywhere and the people are super nice and wonderful.

I was getting my Christmas tree from Dutchman set up in front of Dickman's and they mentioned something about a Walmart and having to move location next year... What a damned shame. There's a Walmart not more than 2 miles from Broadway and Camino Seco - but I guess the folks in the scooters can't be bothered to get on the bus to go any farther than they have to.

When I lived in Tucson, plamadude60k and I would get some tasty food from Dickman's. Way better than anything we could get at the supermarkets nearby.

It's good to know they'll still be around.

Last I checked (which was a few months ago), yes. Never went in there (not really my thing), but I saw the shop several times as I drove by on Broadway.

/now in Switzerland for grad school.

Dickman's meat really can't be beat.

It's the best butcher shop in town.

And they lace their twice baked potato(e)s with crack, oh I can feel myself getting fatter...

Dickman's is without a doubt the highest quality butcher we have in this town. Pricey as all hell, too. But so good.

Heroes and Villains is indeed still here. Just down the road from my house, in fact.

That's something that always bothered me: The scooter folks. I mean, I know some have a leg missing or their backs FUBAR, but... Well, you get the idea.

/Nice to see the comic shop is still there
//Might take a visit, once my passport is renovated

Dickman needs to have a themed sale to celebrate the opening of the new store on January 15. I suggest a sale featuring tube meat called Dickman's Sausage Fest!

For once, SOMEONE spelled 'Tuscon' right!

Oh crap.

Went to high school with a guy whose last name is Dickman. He was really embarrassed for the first three years when girls would ask him, "Are YOU the DICK man?!", but our senior year he figured out to answer, "YES I AM!"

Mac's Low Cost Meats in Trail BC used to use the tagline in their ads "You can't beat the meat on Spokane Avenue". Always made me chuckle.

I can finally say my hometown neighborhood made Fark. Though I don't live there anymore, and I can't truly recall of that place was there in 98 when I moved away. But still! Broadway and Camino Seco represent! That's how you do it, right?

They should move this sign closer to it:

And a special congratulations for subby for spelling Tucson correctly for the first time on Fark history in a headline.

depmode98: And a special congratulations for subby for spelling Tucson correctly for the first time on Fark history in a headline.

To be fair, that mistake is hardly limited to Fark. Probably twice a week I get a receipt from some "local" business that says "Tuscon" at the top.

CygnusDarius: Last I remember, I think there was a comic book store close by "Heroes & Villains", is it still there?.

H&V has been answered, although I wouldn't call it "close by" (it's about five miles, actually). I actually don't remember any comic book shops being out this way, although I've only lived out this way a couple years, so I dunno.

ryche_me: There's a Walmart not more than 2 miles from Broadway and Camino Seco

Three, actually (Speedway and Kolb). Besides, there's two Targets within two miles of each other (El Con and Broadway & Beverly), so that makes it totally justified.

Hello Tucson Farkers!!! I live a few blocks away from those stone balls, and if you go down Dodge during the day you'll get a nice shot of a anatomically correct wooden horse with the dong facing right to the street. Makes me smile on my way into work everyday.

Where are the balls? I'm out in Marana, and never heard of Dickmans.

Heroes and Villians is still there, by the way. I heard a few years ago that there was another comic book shop on that side of town, but forget the name of it. Not sure if it's still there.

Is that the feed store? The one with the horse on the roof?

It says something for my town, when somebody says "near the wooden horse dick" and I have to say, "which one?"
