Strangely, I was more attracted to the 4-6-0 part of the story. My grandfather was a hogger on a 4-6-0 Pacific for Canadian Pacific Railways out of Moose Jaw for many years. I didn't know the had them in England too.

That unit would have been considered obsolete in the US by that time.... Pacifics, Mikados, Hudsons, and Northerns were the gold standard by 1937.
