Grote-Man: Any word if Adrian Peterson is going to play?

I hope so.

/have both AP and Matt Forte on my team (and Forte is out today)
//my playoff hopes are finished

I heard he practiced Thurs and Fri, so odds are yes (but nothing concrete yet the last time I checked.

Thoughts on Teebus or Palmer?

/my opponent is starting AP
//feeling REALLY torn on wishing you luck w/him today

Thank you for a great game, Antonio Brown!

/already won my division
//playoffs start next week

Out of the playoffs, but in the consolation bracket.

Feeling good with MJD, A.J. Green, Damian Williams, Santonio Holmes, Aaron Hernandez, Janikowski...

2011-12-11 11:11:41 AM
Also, Adrian is a game time decision, limited practice this week.

I have a Ben Tate or Ricky Williams dilemma. My RB situation sucks. Ingram's turf toe porked me. I'm going with Williams. Ray Rice can't get them all, right?

2011-12-11 11:14:54 AM
I got Tebow v. Bears, or Dalton v. Houston. Best waiver wire pickup would be probably Grossman or Carson Palmer.

I'm rolling with Teebus. Anyone want to try and talk me out of that? It just seems like a completely ridiculous thing to do in a playoff week, but I can't think of a good reason why I wouldn't.

2011-12-11 11:16:41 AM
Made the playoffs by scoring 180 points the last week of the season (standard scoring 12 team PPR league). Got 38 point lead all ready thanks to A. Brown and Pitts D. Starting Maurice Morris. I just picked up Kahlil Bell from the Bears. My only other option is Mark Ingram who is out or I could put in Nate Burleson.

2011-12-11 11:17:05 AM
After an 0-3 start, I've won 8 of my last 10, and my last 5 in a row, and I'm in 3rd place in the Fark UFIA Conference. I clinch playoffs with a win today, and have enough points that I should still get in on tiebreakers even if I lose.

Can I just say that I love Aaron Rodgers? He's covered up so many sins this year.

This week, Jesus actually plays a defense with a pulse?

12 teamer I run, one guy has Rodgers, Rice, and Welker. Needless to say he's going to be destroying almost every scoring record we have.

I know, but the Bears aren't going to be doing anything on offense, Denver will at least have the ball a lot.

Grossman is really tempting me against the Pats D, but who are you going to get, Sexy Rexy or Dargon? At least I can mark Tebow down for a solid 15-18.

Tate. The Texans are going to run it a TON w/Yates @ QB and AJ out. Both Tate and Foster have had 100+ yards in the same game this season.

2011-12-11 11:24:44 AM
Fark you Mendenhall. I put you in since you were facing the damn Browns and you lay a turd like that. Especially when Ben was hurt and you were the only offensive option. You garbage player. Now I have to decide between Gore, Murray and Mccoy as to which one won't choke the worst this week.

Riddle me this. How bad do you need the win? If you're in a solid position, Tebow might be your option, but if you need to gamble, you might need Grossman.

Good points. As an extra kick to the nuts, the dude I'm playing in round 1 in the playoffs has Ray Rice, too. Grab your gear, Tate. you're going in.

Playoffs start for me today. Benching Stephen Jackson and Desean Jackson was an easy choice, but I'm debating whether to play Anquan Boldin or Torrey Smith of the Ravens. I'm sure they'll both end up sucking anyways.

I've decided to sit Peterson (unless I hear something in the next hour and 15 minutes) and grabbed Helu off the FA market

Do I play Newton or Brees? I didn't trade Newton because I thought I could use him if the Saints looked like they might start resting players near the end of the year. I'm already in the playoffs but could move up a spot with a win today.

I have to leave for my niece's ballet recital in about 30 minutes. I need help. Tebow or Palmer? I am leaning towards Palmer but the one time I benched Teebus he would have won my league for me (and I would have a bye this week).

AP is inactive according to the ESPN FFB show. Always check your own research of course.

ESPN: AP out

Oof. I'd go Palmer but I have nothing to back that up

I'd lean toward Brees. He has so many solid offensive targets to go to. I'm guessing he'll fare well against the Titans. I've been blessed with that squirrel turd Tom Brady this season, though, and haven't had to put any serious thought into QB situations. Every time that guy farts, I seem to get points from it.

Yeah, i've been spoiled lately. I'm pissed if my QB doesn't get at least 25 points for me.

2011-12-11 11:56:54 AM
I've been very dominant in my league for most of the season. Then the last three weeks in a row, every team I played had their best game of the season (Drew Brees and Seabass for a combined 67 FF points...give me a farking break)

That being said, I'm almost a lock for the playoffs. Here's to hoping that Frank Gore pulls out of his slump this game.

I'm Purple Drank. This is what Im looking at for week one of the playoffs..Dude has Rodgers and Welker. Fark Me! Also, bless you Phillip Rivers for last week. I needed 24 points from you to make the playoffs and you gave me 25.5

/On another note tinypic.com now makes you watch an advertisement video before you get the captcha to upload pics. Fark them, Im going to find a new photo upload service.

Steve Smith vs. Falcons (been awful lately and its Cam's show now)
or
Laurent Robinson vs. Giants (dinged up and back to being #3)

2011-12-11 12:10:32 PM
I'm sitting in 4th in my 8 team 2 division league. Though if I lose today I could be knocked out of the playoffs. My starters:

QB rivers
WR Jennings
WR Antonio brown
RB McCoy
RB sproles
TE gronkowski
FLEX jimmy Graham
K akers (49ers)
D Chicago

Vs

QB romo
WR boldin
WR Hicks
RB s. Greene
RB Chris Johnson
TE v. Davis
FLEX mcgahee
K rackers
D Philly

Brown gave me a great lead, 24-0. He turned out to be a great mid season pick up. Projection favors me by 2: 109-107 but brown gave me a 14pt buffer.

I struggled with QBs this year. Started with Rivers and Rapistberger but dropped the latter for Fitzpatrick since he was producing monster stats at the time. Both have seen a couple of high games but for the most part they have been woefully inconsistent over the season. The same can be said for my D: the bears had at least three 30+ games (they were benched one of those times!) But also a bunch of stinkers. I picked up the Texans midseason. They are much more consistent but I don't think they had a huge performance. I like the Bears matchup with Denver this week better. They've been doing well lately, and when they're on, they're on...plus they have Hester!

Sproles and Graham were also great midseason pickups for me. I had Britt initially - he was the golden boy until he tore his acl or whatever.

/ yahoo non-PPR league with a few modified rules
// first time doing FF .. will definitely draft QB higher next year

I have Nicks and White going at WR and a flex thats going to either Colston or Steve Smith. Smith has sucked as of late but has a higher up side than Colston. Who would you guys put in the flex?

2011-12-11 12:29:10 PM
Christ, McGahee and Miles Austin are both listed as questionable...the best alternatives I have for them are Joseph Addai and Mike Williams. I'm just going to start them both and pray. Go big or go home.

Colston. Brees has a ton of targets but one always has a big game. It could be Colston but he should at least hit his projected mark.

So one of the leagues I'm in apparently uses two weeks to determine each playoff result. Who thought this was a good idea, the same idiot that downgraded the default scoring value for passing TDs from 6 to 4?

2011-12-11 12:44:52 PM
Last day of regular season for my team. I was riding first place all but one week until last when I was knocked down to 3rd (top 3 teams with identical records of 9-4). I'd love to win this week for confidence, but it actually doesn't matter too much as the playoffs are set as far as which four teams are going in, only position jockeying at this point. Dude that's currently in first has beat me twice, and I'll of course have to go through him to win it all.

As for this week my opponent is up on me by 38.30 already thanks to Roethlisberger and Brown on Thursday. Goddamn that last play for a TD near the end really farked me. Gave him over 20 points on one freaking play, and turned my week from confident to very shaky.

I guess considering all the injuries I've had this season, I've done pretty well, but really been frustrating. Anyway good luck to all.

2011-12-11 12:48:41 PM
Bleh, I may be stuck trusting Desean Jackson this week, after I swore never again. A semi-injured Robinson may not get the targets with Miles Austin back for Dallas. Doesn't matter though, I need one of the other two 8-5 guys to lose today to make playoffs. My Points For is abysmal.

Drew's Fantasy Talents Playoff Updates 20 teams are down to the final 8:
Rudemix(1) vs. Flamewar Veterans(8): Flame predicted to be slightly better, this should be a heck of a good matchup. Go Rude in the end

Almost Sober (2) vs. Sam (7): Almost Sober is heavily favored however my wife has been extremely lucky this year. Expect a 425 yard 4 TD game from Rodgers and Tillman to return a Tebowception for a TD

Scali Clobbering Time (3) vs. Mostly Harmless (6): My once great squad has been decimated by injuries with barely anyone left from my original draft and starting lineup. Since Best's injury it has been downhill. I drafted Brady over Rodgers early due to his playoff week matchups so my boom or bust strategy will be put to the test

Bloody Clown Shoes (4) vs. Venezuela Oil Blacks (5): The OBs are coming into the playoffs as a scoring machine and an unstoppable force. They are the team to avoid.

In Yahoo leagues the default for passes is 4. You have to modify it up to 6. The part about using 2 weeks seems silly though. Is that a league that you play regularly? If so do your members vote on the rules and settings? (They do in the one I run)

In the league I run, I just changed it, but the principle of changing the scoring is what pisses me off. A touchdown is a touchdown, regardless of how you get it. It was a dumb attempt to "balance" QBs and considering the trend of the disappearing franchise RB, it's going to be pointless soon.

I completely agree with the 4 point thing being dumb. I know they have that to attempt to balance the scoring. Do all the managers get to vote because I wouldnt want to play in a league where the commish can unilaterally make moves that effect such critical things like scoring.

On ESPN, the commissioner alters the league settings, but our league migrated from Yahoo. We started there in 2004, but in the last couple of years Yahoo really shiat the bed in a number of places. Stattracker tanked in quality the day it went free, and on random weeks they'd lock the rosters over an hour before gametime. So we moved to ESPN last year, but since almost everyone has been playing for years, the changes have been minimal.

Gotcha, just to clarify one thing. I wasnt implying that any of the managers could actually go in and make setting changes, just that every year we vote on the rules and the commish acts accordingly. We haven't changed much in the years since we've been playing. We just added a D roster spot and ppr a couple of years ago. The only other service Ive used is CBSSports. I preferred yahoo to it. We never had any of the troubles you described with Yahoo, otherwise we may have looked for a new place to put the league.

:) I had Smith in and decided to go against everyone's advice and put Boldin in at 12:58 PM. Yahoo froze up and I couldn't make the swap in time, thank goodness.

Now I'm just waiting for Wes Welker to get something going :/

Is there a team killing more fantasy seasons right now than the Atlanta Falcons? At least the Eagles put points on the board. Seriously Michael Turner, you can kiss the fatest part of my ass.
