Probably more like some crackhead whore dropped the $5 she just got for blowing Randal behind the video store.

Sounds like a lot of dumb people in Duluth. Plus, if someone lost this money, how do they know exactly where they lost it? And maybe the finder didn't find all of it cuz some of it could have blown away or something. Sounds like he's going to get to keep the cash. Lucky day for him!

If i have a bunch of money on me for some reason, that is going to be my main concern and I will keep checking it every minute or so until I can get it somewhere safe. I deposit a few thousand dollars once in a while. I keep my hand on the bag the entire time. How to you lose $26k?

I hope the owner gets it back. I once lost $600 at the post office between my car and the customer counter. I never found it. Back then that was much money to me.

Heh, similar thing happened where I work. Friend of mine found around 17 bucks in the hallway. Got permission to send out an email to everyone about it. He got somewhere around 15 emails out of the 200 or so people who work there, but not one of them said they lost as little as 17 bucks. If nothing else, it made a good list of "People who are within 100 feet of you for 8 hours a day and have no reservations at all about lying or stealing." Well, partial list.

My dad came home from LaGuardia airport once in the early 80s with a Samsonite suitcase full of cash that he picked up instead of his own identical case. It had no identification on it, but his suitcase did, including our name, telephone number and address. It was a little tense for a few hours until the phone rang and some guy said, "I think you may have the wrong suitcase." They made a swap at the mall.
