The world forum also launched a ``Green Climate Fund'' to help channel up to $US100 billion a year in aid to poor, vulnerable countries by 2020, an initiative born under the 2009 Copenhagen Summit.

Climate control has turned into one big money grab.

Cream of Meat: I love watching these leaders from African countries screaming about climate change while back in their country people are getting raped and murdered.

Those are huge problems, too. Climate change is also going to compound problems in Africa due to water becoming even more scarce than it already is. Look up Mt. Kilimanjaro and how it's glacier is almost gone.

This is creepy. This is damn, damn creepy. And I don't think it's a tinfoil hat moment either. This really does stink of a "UN taking over the US" scenario.

If I read this right, Americans will actually be forced to pay a tax to a foreign entity against their will.

If the trillion dollar Wall Street bailout was an atrocity, imagine American tax money being shoveled in the trillions out to third world dictators, who are more likely to spend their windfall on pleasure palaces, preteen slave girls from Thailand, and increased donations to Al Qaeda.

If Obama signs onto this nightmare, then he has officially handed the White House to the GOP in 2012. Doesn't matter what lunatic gets the republican nomination. That person would be guaranteed to win.

Yeah, full derp. Giving an international law making body, without democratic representation, the authority to levy taxes however it sees fit. We would never hand over criminal arrest authority. Oh wait, how would they enforce said taxes? What a loony conspiracy theory.

squeez cheez: US Senate will likely treat it as it did the Kyoto accord.

Considering that even under the most dire of global warming predictions the Kyoto Protocol would have decreased the temperature rise by a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a degree? I sure as hell hope the senate uses it for toilet paper if this new agreement is even remotely similar to Kyoto.

It's almost like... Like, they planned it that way or something... Almost as if global warming was just a smoke screen for another agenda because if you believe in human created global warming then the Kyoto Protocols shouldn't be remotely close to what you want to see... But surely they "really" meant for it to address "global warming" and had no other agenda at all in mind... Surely they just did a bad job and it was a first step.

Keep drinking the kool-aid.

A management framework was adopted for the Green Climate Fund, which will eventually gather and disburse finance amounting to $100bn (£64bn) per year to help poor countries develop cleanly and adapt to climate impacts.

This is what it's all about. Follow the money.

It's always fun from the outside to see American loons gibbering about the vast conspiracy of climate change.

I'm not aware of anyone particularly important who doubts that humanity is having an impact on the climate in the rest of the Western world.

Is this what the US is going to be like during every single scientific movement, the same as they were with evolution? In 2150 when we've got a base on Mars, is the same gibbering hivemind going to refuse to believe it, because you cannot cross the boundaries of a crystal sphere?

So what is the science like on the "solution" for global warming? I have not seen the results of the scientific method and lab testing for "Piling American tax payer money into a UN slush fund". How exactly is that going to fix the climate? Bonus: show your work in terms detramental/beneficial human effects and site your evidence/proof.

I don't expect too many peer reviewed studies on how throwing money at countries outside the third world is going to lower carbon emissions. I do expect lots of Greenpeace studies on it, however.

Oh, you must of missed this:

"There are multiple reasons why this Obama decision is so deeply disturbing.

First, the Obama order reverses a 1983 Reagan administration decision in order to grant Interpol, the International Criminal Police Organization, two key privileges. First, Obama has granted Interpol the ability to operate within the territorial limits of the United States without being subject to the same constitutional restraints that apply to all domestic law enforcement agencies such as the FBI.

Second, Obama has exempted Interpol's domestic facilities -- including its office within the U.S. Department of Justice -- from search and seizure by U.S. authorities and from disclosure of archived documents in response to Freedom of Information Act requests filed by U.S. citizens.

Think very carefully about what you just read: Obama has given an international law enforcement organization that is accountable to no other national authority the ability to operate as it pleases within our own borders, and he has freed it from the most basic measure of official transparency and accountability, the FOIA.

Yeah, FARK the U.N. The nerve... trying to troll the whole planet at once, AND get us to pay for it!

/ Checks Kyoto Treaty... Ooh. Almost.

But one must say clearly that we redistribute de facto the world's wealth by climate policy. Obviously, the owners of coal and oil will not be enthusiastic about this. One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. This has almost nothing to do with environmental policy anymore, with problems such as deforestation or the ozone hole.
