///Although I will admit Kristen Wiig doesn't have a single comedic bone in her body.

Hey, NBC. You wanna know why i pirate all of your TV shows and don't wait for them to show on my free to air channels? shiat like this. Fark you.

Enjoy the lack of ad revenue, douchbags.

anyone one that says SNL for the last 10 or 20 years wasn't as funny as the original cast wasn't around when the shows played in it's entirety or they were high while watching it. that rerun shiat you see today is highly edited, kids.

He is a funny, talented guy.

And an arrogant, ill-tempered douche,

Which just goes to show that talent and character are not intertwined.

I'll go on record as saying I didn't "get" the first season. They might have been in great films but Sushi Ninja? Not funny. The Coneheads? really not funny. Chevy Chase falling down a lot? Funny but probably not an act.

And I haven't seen SNL in a long time but I guarantee whatever it's like now it's better than cira 1985 or circa 1995. Those were the eras when they downright hated the audience.

farkin douche.

he makes me laugh in spite of the fact that he is a pretty awful person.

I would have paid a fee and bought a new 55" flat-screen if he had committed suicide on the air. Now THAT'S entertainment!

I Am The Egg Matt Drudge Smears Upon His Body: That was pretty damn funny.

see I thought the exact opposite. I was expecting it to be and it wasnt. it didnt have a point either, he wasnt apologizing and he wasnt really ripping on AMerican, LAME

2011-12-11 09:57:32 AM
He's definitely a douche, but he's funny.

He also has a point. The same aircraft systems being used at takeoff are being used at cruise. The real reason they make you turn stuff off is to make you pay attention to the safety briefing. That's IT. If computers were the slightest threat to aircraft systems, they wouldn't be allowed at any time.

I routinely bust the rule anyway. As soon as the plane gets on the runway, I whip out my mp3 player and headphones and listen to the theme from Jonny Quest while the plane takes off. It is the most awesome takeoff sound track EVAR! Start it when the engines spool up, and the music hits the crescendo just as the plane lifts off (assuming you're on a fully loaded heavy 320/330/767/etc)

plus, the plane hadn't even pulled back from the gate yet. he could've been less douche-y - but AA is making a waaaay big stink over this.

Baldwin + SNL has always been full of win.

I will admit you're a horrible judge of what's funny; Bridesmaids was funny, and Kristen got skills.

Both you and Bal can post up your comedy bits onto youtube and show us what some real comedy is, yes?

Which has jack all to with slamming the door to the bathroom as he locks himself in, against the instructions of the crew, and banging on the walls so loud the Captain heard it in the cockpit.

Baldwin was definitely a douchebag with an inflated sense of entitlement but taking 30 Rock off the flight entertainment list just sounded petty. Requesting he be put on the no fly list was overdoing it a bit as well.

I have to fly all the time, often in the cattle car.

If I can shut off the electronics for a couple minutes, it's my opinion that douchebag in First Class can also delay gratification for like 5 or 10 minutes as well.

"Sushi Ninja"? WTF was that? If you're talking about Belushi's Samurai sketches, maybe you just don't understand physical comedy.

I rarely watch SNL, but I did catch last night's.

I actually laughed a few times:

The weeaboos
The digital short (with matt damon and val "fatass" kilmer!)
Stefan always makes me laugh, even though the character is stupid. I don't know why I find him funny, but I do.

Okay, physical comedy, I get it. Seems to be the most subjective form of comedy. But really, the Coneheads? And "Land Shark"? Would anything like that work today? I blame the drug war on our inability to find shiat from the '60s and '70s funny.

FTA:

"It has not been proven that electronic devices do not interfere with safety sensitive systems of the aircraft, especially at critical times of flight, taxi, take-off and landing," American Airlines flight attendant Lonny Glover, a safety and security expert with the Association of Professional Flight Attendants, told the Daily News"

This I don't get. If Angry Birds is going to make the planes critical systems fail during takeoff, what's to stop it from making my plane fall out of the sky out in the middle of the ocean?

You know, I was pretty sympathetic to the airline because everyone knows that Baldwin can be a douche. Then I saw this line in the article:

"It has not been proven that electronic devices do not interfere with safety sensitive systems of the aircraft, especially at critical times of flight, taxi, take-off and landing,"

Really airline? You know, no one has conclusively proven that a LOT of things do not interfere with safety sensitive systems of the aircraft. Congratulations on out-douching a Baldwin.

Same here. The "Two Best Friends" short made me laugh a number of times. The show really has gotten better in recent months.

Tax Boy: Stefan always makes me laugh, even though the character is stupid. I don't know why I find him funny, but I do.

I think it is because the writers throw crazy shiat on the teleprompter for him to say right at the last minute, so Bill Hader has no clue what he is going to be saying until it comes out of his mouth, so the whole time he's desperately trying to keep himself from laughing.

I side with Baldwin 100% for this comment alone.

I'd like to see a total "celebrities acting like d-bags on flights" campaign to ensue until the airlines stop with this nonsense.

Celebrities overlook the obvious:

"Attention, passengers, our flight is being delayed because of someone in First Class who refuses to turn off his electronic device. Now, normally, we don't allow coach passengers to come to First Class, but since Alec Baldwin is such a well-known celebrity, we would invite all of you with twitter accounts and cell phone cameras to come forward and see what's happening for yourselves. Feel free to ask for autographs, have him pose for photos, or, well, whatever you like, really. It's not like we can leave until he cooperates anyway..."

He's paying extra to be in First Class so that he can be protected from intrusions by everyone in the cheaper seats on the flight. If he doesn't appreciate this, well, hell, let's let the intrusions begin.
