Meh.

Skyrim and SWTOR better tide me over till 2013.

2011-12-11 12:23:42 AM
SWTOR and ME3 will be my primary game purchases of 2012.

2011-12-11 12:26:20 AM
ME3 is the only one of those I'm personally looking forward to.

2011-12-11 12:28:03 AM
Is "Hitman: Absolution" coming out before the new year?

2011-12-11 12:28:19 AM
Bought Skyrim, ME, ME2, and Fallout: NV and a bunch of indie games in the past month, so those will give me plenty for the next few months at least.

Then probably gonna get Torchlight 2, and ME3 if they allow it on Steam.

2011-12-11 12:31:37 AM
Oh and Guild Wars 2.

2011-12-11 12:42:29 AM
Borderlands 2

2011-12-11 12:45:18 AM
Apparently we're looking forward to sequels.

2011-12-11 12:49:46 AM
I've got enough games that I need to play before I buy anymore.

2011-12-11 12:59:19 AM
I'm set with Skyrim and Saints Row 3. Diablo will get my attention, but I fully expect it to suck ass.

2011-12-11 01:30:46 AM
Good, I was hoping GTA 5 would be back in Los Santos.

2011-12-11 01:42:07 AM
I'm looking forward to the new SSX game.

....and what the hell are they doing to Max Payne? The gritty inner city American noir milieu is was what made the game so appealing. Moving the locale to Brazil is a really bad idea.

2011-12-11 01:44:32 AM
I'll power through ME3 quickly just to finish up the trilogy and fistbump Jennifer Hale, but then it's back to Skyrim when the mods start rolling in.

2011-12-11 01:49:53 AM
No love for Half-Life 3?

HA HA just kidding.

/Valve Time must be strictly observed.

2011-12-11 02:01:03 AM
And 9 of those 10 are sequels or continuation of a series. Go original gaming!

2011-12-11 02:37:50 AM
Gaming is as good as it's ever been and I can't wait for these incredible titles to come out. I tried to get in to video games when I was younger but you had to be "skilled" at the games in order to beat them. That's dumb. I don't have to be "skilled" to watch a movie. I don't have to be "skilled" to read a book. I want to beat video games with minimal or no effort. That's why Heavy Rain is the best game I've played so far to-date. It was like a movie, and that's what I look for in a video game. My friend said I should play Bayonetta but it was only fun on the easy mode where I could press one button and do all the special combos. Not gonna waste my time learning all the buttons. Lol. I'll waste time getting laid instead. Lol. Angry Birds was kind of cool but I don't know why you just can't press the blocks to make the pigs blow up. Anyway, hope they make another Call of Duty game. The multi-player was really boring but the single-player was incredible. So many setpieces! Awesome. The best part is that your allies kill stuff for you so you can watch the game instead of playing it. Can't wait for 2012. Does anyone know if they're going to make sequels for any of these games they did last year? I hope they do another Call of Duty. Anyone know?

2011-12-11 02:39:21 AM
Where's Thief 4?

2011-12-11 02:59:20 AM
I'll be dusting off ME2 to replay the ending scene so a certain individual doesn't die. Can't wait for ME3.

Not caring about D3 after playing the Beta.

Hadn't heard of Xenoblade til now. Hopefully it's good; I could use more quality RPGs.

2011-12-11 03:24:59 AM
meh
the next wow expansion pack will be out and will sell more copies than any of these games
YAWN

although bioshock might be interesting ...

2011-12-11 03:36:31 AM
I might give Xenoblade a go.

I hope there's some game coming out for Wii U when that launches next year that will be a must have.

2011-12-11 03:54:52 AM
fnorgby: Diablo will get my attention, but I fully expect it to suck ass.

Take that back, or I will beat you with Wirt's leg.

2011-12-11 03:59:47 AM
Krieghund: Meh.

Skyrim and SWTOR better tide me over till 2013.

SWTOR looks like a cross between Star Wars Galaxies and Tabula Rasa. I'm worried.

2011-12-11 04:01:37 AM
Mass Effect 3 and Tomb Raider are the only games I am really looking forward to next year, at least so far.

2011-12-11 04:03:05 AM
Crudbucket: ME3 is the only one of those I'm personally looking forward to.

What you said. Even though I read the leaked spoilers, still anticipating a decent ride.

2011-12-11 04:04:13 AM
Xenoblade was listed, hooray!

/buying it.
/I don't even own a Wii.

2011-12-11 04:05:13 AM
Xenoblade is one of the best goddamn games I've ever played. I already "acquired" the PAL version since I figured it wasn't coming out here but when they announced it I went to Gamestop and preordered it immediately.

2011-12-11 04:07:47 AM
The Onion is prophetic: And 9 of those 10 are sequels or continuation of a series. Go original gaming!

8 of 10 as of my count. Unless you're counting Guardian as a continuation of the Ico/SOTC universe, which I think it kind of is?

2011-12-11 04:11:05 AM
As this list goes, meh. Of course a bunch of sequels to existing series by AAA developers would be considered 'most anticipated'.

My most anticipated game of 2012 as of right now: Whatever Frictional Games are going to call their new game.

CitizenTed: No love for Half-Life 3?

HA HA just kidding.

/Valve Time must be strictly observed.

Half-Life 3 as well, but we all know it will never happen.
I can't even think of some absurd analogy for some stupid thing I'd do if HL3 were released next year. FFS Valve...just end it for us, please!
/has given up on Black Mesa Source
//Dear Ester looks promising as well

Duck_of_Doom: Crudbucket: ME3 is the only one of those I'm personally looking forward to.

I used to work on ME3, the anticipation is warranted in my mind.
It's the best of the series thus far.

2011-12-11 04:32:47 AM
I only have eyes for Borderlands 2 and whatever game(s) Double Fine is releasing. I'm am over hype after this year ended up being somewhat disappointing for me. I was looking forward to Batman: AC and I flat-out didn't enjoy it. Saints Row: The Third is fun, but it doesn't have the scope of the second game. I'm straight out sick of FPSes at this point, so Battlefield and CoD (a series that I don't really enjoy anyway) did nothing for me.

2011-12-11 04:33:25 AM
The more I see about Diablo 3, the less and less I want it. The graphics are sub par (and Blizzard really can afford to do a lot better), there never was much of a story in the game (not like, say, there is in Mass Effect or Skyrim), and the point and click genre just isn't as entertaining as it was. I fully admit I love to throw my old Diablo 2 disc in on occasion and play through the game, but I'm not going to shell out money for a slightly updated, DRM crippled version.

I'm also not looking forward to Halo 4. Without Bungie on board, I just don't think the franchise can handle another trilogy. Did any of the writers stay with 343 Studios when the split was made? I may not actually enjoy the Halo games all that much as games, I'm not really an FPS player, but I loved the story line. That's the only reason I bought and played through the games at all; I wanted to know what happened next. I don't 343 Studios has that kind of imaginative power. It might be a great FPS that I'll hear about for years to come, but I don't care about shooting at things. I want to know why I'm shooting at things.

2011-12-11 04:44:10 AM
I'll rent and play GTAV, ME3, Bioshock Infinite, but the one I'm most looking forward to is Borderlands 2. Just please don't change the 4-person co-op mode too much.

2011-12-11 04:46:59 AM
And almost all of them are farking shooters.

2011-12-11 04:47:43 AM

2011-12-11 04:54:29 AM
Also, very patiently awaiting CANVAS. (new window)

Yeah, I know it's a Source Mod. So what? Seems more intriguing than anything else on this list.

2011-12-11 04:58:12 AM
Note to self: If Mike_LowELL recommends it, ignore it. It will be a buncha cut scenses with boring inept game play.

/Hope Mike was trolling.

Missing:
Hawken
Ridge Racer Unbounded(by the FlatOut team)
Twisted Metal(David Jaffe)
Aliens: Colonial Marines
Starhawk
CS:GO
Torchlight 2
X Rebirth
Prey 2(fark you, I thought Prey was pretty cool)
Metal Gear Solid: Rising
Assassin's Creed 3

2011-12-11 05:05:12 AM
And While I can't say it's being anticipated, Against the Wall (new window) looks like a rather interesting title coming out some time next year.

More info for those interested. (new window)

Stay awhile and listen.

Ridge Racer Unbounded(by the FlatOut team)

Even though I've read about that (and it does look quite interesting), there's a new FlatOut coming out soon (new window) as well.

Different dev, though. Looks okay, but not great. We'll see. The biggest bummer is that there won't be a rally mode in Ridge Racer Unbounded as far as I can tell

Ah. themoreyouknow.jpg.
I always tended to play the arcade set ups for Ridge Racer (1 and 2), so that's been my only exposure to the series. Fun game minus the horrendous collision detection in the first couple titles. Wasn't aware that the group behind the new one, which was previously behind FlatOut, is no longer the group working on FlatOut. I may have to check both the new RR and FO out then.

/fark you RR, I was easily two feet from that wall/car.
//FO/FO2, while being fun, were also absolutely infuriating at the same time

smooshie: Bought Skyrim, ME, ME2, and Fallout: NV and a bunch of indie games in the past month, so those will give me plenty for the next few months at least.

-I really like Fallout: New Vegas, despite it's bug-ridden nature. I have 180 hours in on it, and I still haven't gotten around to beating the main quest line.

envirovore: Also, very patiently awaiting CANVAS. (new window)

-That looks interesting. I'll have to keep an eye on that, though given how long Black Mesa is taking, I try not to get my hopes up about indie HL mods.

Anyhow, I'm also waiting to see how Microsoft Flight turns out. Borderlands 2 and Bioshock Infinite are pretty much a given for me, but my game library is missing a good flight sim.

2011-12-11 05:54:50 AM
Borderlands, Bioshock, that Japanese RPG thinger, and Diablo 3 are my current list. If D3 requires one to have a persistent internet connection to play single-player, though, I'll boycott; that's a dumb requirement (and my home internet is shiatty for reasons beyond my control, and things that don't handle the stray lost packet and ocassional few-second outages won't do well).

It starts in two days, assuming you per-ordered, so your worries should be assuaged soon.

Heh, I always had the same thoughts. Also, when you hit the wall it turned you into it IIRC, which just made it worse

There are plenty of high end indie mods for HL2 out already. I highly suggest Research And Development, as well as Korsakovia to start with. The Minerva series (if you have not yet played it) is also pretty good.
CANVAS seems to still be on track at least (thankfully).

Even though I'll play BMS (if it's ever farking released), I share your dismay in how long it's taken.

Not only turned you into it, but brought you to a full dead stop.
/nearly tore the steering wheel off many RR arcade set ups.

2011-12-11 06:17:59 AM
Out of that lot, GTAV is the only one that I have any interest in.

2011-12-11 06:26:50 AM
Huh, looks like 2012 is going to be a dry year for me as far as the AAA stuff goes. Mass Effect is, obviously, a must purchase (assuming I don't need an Origin shaped butt plug to play it). But nothing else on that list really appears.

Guess I'll be hitting the indies hard.
