ecmoRandomNumbers: Montana has a college?

At least two of them. I almost went to the other one for my Master's.

Also, holy hell what a catch!

2011-12-10 09:41:32 PM
Okay, then. That was pretty impressive.

2011-12-10 09:59:36 PM
Of course in the NFL they would say he didn't have 100% complete control over that ball as he went down.

Holy carp what a catch!

Like hell. That ball didn't budge one inch in his hand.

2011-12-10 10:12:42 PM
i think someone would have to catch the ball between their thighs or their buttocks to beat that.

2011-12-10 10:40:53 PM
That was a badass catch. For reals.

If his glove had a foreskin, it would have.

And the other one won last night.

That kept getting more and more awesome. It's like he was trying multiple moves ... behind the defender, against the helmet, one handed, behind my back.

2011-12-11 01:48:44 AM
Amazing catch.

2011-12-11 01:49:47 AM
EAT 'EM UP KATS!

He did enough moves for three amazing catches. Jesus.

Subby, this may be the only time that someone uses "best ever" anything that is actually true.

Holy freakin' catch Batman! He may just have scored himself a chance at an NFL career. I know I would give a flyer on him in the later rounds if I was a GM.

2011-12-11 02:42:15 AM
Can someone GIF the last few seconds of this?
-_-

Yes. This is how you comment funny.

Espy winner for sure

2011-12-11 02:58:13 AM
It was only #3 on ESPN's top ten. #2 was a full court prayer in a high school game and #1 was a buzzer beating 3 pointer. I'd take that catch over either of them, since they will happen multiple times this basketball season. That catch was a lifer.

Typically when someone says "greatest catch ever" it's usually a pretty good catch, but since it happened recently it's regarded way higher than it should be on the list of great catches.

That being said this catch in fact actually could be the greatest catch of all time.

I'm pretty sure in the NFL they would've ruled it a catch because the ball never once touched the ground, if the ball never touches the ground it can't be incomplete.

That was a great catch too but the Elvis catch beat the living hell out of it. Not even close.

Best of the year? Absolutely.

Best of all time (new window)

2011-12-11 05:01:59 AM
I was going to prepare a montage of various catches that would be better than the video's catch, but, damn, that's the best catch I've ever seen.

This catch is definitely better than that

And still going with this catch is better. The catch you linked relies a tremendous amount on luck. First he failed at catching it when it was an easy ball. Second he got lucky his foot hit it up into the air.

So I am going with Subby's catch is better. The receiver was relatively well covered if the pass was good, the pass though was 2 feet inside and behind the receiver and defender which meant he had to work his arse off to even get the ball. Then given all of the ball control rules that have been thrown around he prevented the ball purposefully from ever touching the ground. If at the initial point where the ball was going to the ground the ball touched the ground there is a good chance the refs would rule it incomplete.

Essentially the receiver made a significantly harder catch and ensured that there was no chance it was going to be called back incomplete he wins.

FiatJustitia: Holy hell, people actually admitting they went to SHSU?

Somewhat related CSB:

I currently go to UNO for a degree from the UNL College of Engineering. This means the engineering curriculum is dictated by UNL, and, the gen-ed requirements is dictated by UNO. I am considered to be student at UNO by the University of Nebraska system. You wouldn't know it if you asked most engineering students, including me, or professors. We won't admit that we go to UNO; "we go to UNL in Omaha".

/AFAIK, we don't get access to student ticket for Nebraska football games.

What is this college football playoff nonsense? Don't those school administrators know that hurts the integrity of the academic process? We should reward these fine young men with a postseason trip to a corporate sponsored contest and we can call it a "Bowl game". This idea of a playoff will kill this level of football

This is a slightly better than average catch (new window)

Also, fark you, Mike Shula.

2011-12-11 08:59:36 AM
I was skeptical of the headline, but yeah, that's an Antonio Freeman (pops) level catch.

2011-12-11 09:12:11 AM
Dang. That was 50% Prothro and 50% Tyree and, like a Billy Mays commercial, "Wait! Theres more!"

Btw, I thought it said the coach got murdered...
