My parents have old Mad paperbacks from the '60s. I still read them when I'm visiting and they're still pretty damn funny. Glad to hear Al Jaffee is still kickin'.

No, he created a new language that looks suspiciously like comic book frames.

Mad magazine got me through and in trouble during my younger school years. I remember in the 6th grade I came back from recess and my Mad magazine was gone from my desk. Every kid in class was a suspect. Turns out the back cover had a picture of a hippie hanging from a syringe mimicking Jesus with the caption, "The Modern Crucifiction". My teacher that confiscated it failed to find the humor in that.

I downloaded the complete series and actually recently came across that issue. When I hit that page I actually said out loud "woah."

I inherited some when I was a kid. It's what got me started on Mad in 3rd grade. Can't remember the last time I really enjoyed the mag though...maybe mid-90s. Cracked - carbon copy that it is - had a period where I thought it was better. John Severin's art alone made Cracked worth picking up.

Loves me some Jaffee though.

Loved MAD and Jaffee but he didn't take questions from the audience, he just read from his book. Great subject matter but I want the subby to send me back the 5:26 of my life that lame video consumed.
