What pisses me off is that apparently at least one of the homeowners is going to be a complete douchebag about this, which will likely lead to multiple lawsuits.

If it were my house, my demands would be simple:

1) Fix my house;
2) Share a beer with Adam and Jamie;
3) Lap dance from Kari

From what I've heard, they were planning on launching a variety of non-cannonball items out of a cannon to see if they would fire. The shot that got away was the control, confirming that a cannon does indeed fire a cannonball quite effectively.

It strikes me as seriously stupid that these guys claim to be professionals yet outside of their general understanding of physics they seem to have no experience with re-engineering and design testing. Beyond the simple fact that it was a BOMB range not a Federally Approved Artillery Range which is only an afternoon's drive from where they are.

That they were allowed to operate this equipment at the bomb range is NOT their fault, it is the Sheriff's office's fault.

I would have expected the cast and crew to have not been this stupid tho. When you select a location you ALWAYS choose one with clear downrange in excess of 50% over maximum engineering range of the weapon WITH the required angle allowing for maximum wind speed and equipment failure.

In the terms of old cannons we're talking about nine thousand feet and a one hundred sixty degree field backed by standing woods no less than a quarter mile deep. They should have called in Red Jacket for this one.

The first two or three seasons of Mythbusters was pretty good, but after that, they've pretty much dwindled down to BS myths and repeats of previous tests.

They're professional special effects/gag-builders/tinkerers, not engineers and artillerymen. This doesn't surprise me at all, really.

She's just, I don't know, normal.... I never understood the whole "OMG She's wearing skin tight things bent over a desk and you can see her thong. LOOK IT'S HER THONG!" thing. Big deal. Had she done some ATM on the show to prove that it's really not dirty and ladies, go ahead and let you man do it, well, then I'd be in love with her.
