(YouTube) Amusing From MST3K season 8, it's The Thing That Couldn't Die. Mike, Servo, and Crow rip this tale about a witch and a disembodied head to shreds. "Gidget, have you lain with the horned one again?"   (youtube.com) divider line 17

Oh good idea. Haven't seen this one in years.
But first I'm gonna read my favorite Shakespeare play, Maysure for Maysure.

Is that the one with the disembodied head in the hat box? I liked that one.

Episodes from the Sci-Fi channel years are usually pretty low on my must watch list.

"They stole my treasure and I feel displeasure."

Good episode.

I have a warm feeling for them. I mean, the show had been doomed.

DOOMED

Yeah. "We want the host segments to have a story arc even though we're not going to show them in order ever again"

If I remember right, at least for the "Roman Times" arc - they didn't show them in the right order the first time!

At the same time, the sci-fi era had some of the best host segments. I just watched "Prince of Space" last night, which had Dog and Bear, as well as the Wormhole bits (the out of sync timeline cracks me up).

Great, GREAT episode, this!

KellyKellyKelly: Aunt Flava Flav?

"Aunt Coolio's gonna flip when she sees this..."

Hebjamn: I wasn't gonna shoot it. I was gonna clean it at you.

Oh, the big dumb guy cracks were hilarious the whole episode.

"MY HANDS SUCK, OKAY?"

Even with the forced arcs, the Best Brains still brought it. I'll give 'em credit for making lemonade out of lemons.

Really?

Not to second-say you, of course, but I think a lot of classics came out of that era.

Season 8 is a treasure trove in and of itself.

This had two of my favorite MST3K lines ever. I'm paraphrasing some of the dialog, but:

(Jessica runs out crying, Lunkhead #1 looks wistfully out the door after her)

Lunkhead #1: Is she all right?
Lunkhead #2: Ahh, she'll be fine.
Lunkhead #1: Good...
Tom Servo: I hope you're right, she's coming at me with a scimitar.

and

(Disembodied head, held by the hair, moves lips while hypnotizing Jessica)
Crow: You're... pulling... my... hair!
