There was a performance at Live-Aid with Tina Turner that was about as hot as you've ever seen. I can't find it, but I do remember it.

I've seen the Stones in concert more than a dozen times, and there is nobody who sings Gimme Shelter anywhere near as awesomely as Lisa Fischer. She is just wicked cool :)

Still prefer the Grand Funk version.

More evidence that the Stones play rock while the Beatles played pop.

My absolute favorite Stones song. I get goosebumps whenever I hear this song, with the studio version, that is.

The tempo felt like it was dragging. She's a very good singer, but "hot"? No, not really.

I never knew the Rolling Stones covered that Adele song.

2011-12-10 03:26:31 PM
All I could think while watching that was " I'm pointing my fingers, pointing my fingers".
(I've seen the Stones live and that was definitely remixed in studio)

I don't find it that hot, but maybe just because Mick Jagger is in the mix.

Is it just me or did they push Keith's guitar into the background and focused on Ronnie.

Sweet baby Jesus, that blew my mind to pieces.

Mick annoys me to no end, but Ms.Fischer's voice nearly made my heart stop with joy. And seeing the boys actually genuinely SMILE (except Mick, of course) was a beautiful miracle to behold.

It seems that the older groups get, the faster they play their classics. Such is not the case this time, thank god. This couple-beats-slower version turned it into a monster jamming groove that I will remember and love for a long time.

Thanks subby.

Fark that was great!

I saw them first in 78 Folsom Field Boulder, CO, followed by 1982, both great shows, but I'd love to see them in an intimate lounge or club back then, they played the Rainbow (300 seats) Theater in Denver in the 80's missed that one, they played using a psuedoname once word got out who it really was, nobody couldn't get within a block of the place that night.

That woman's voice was amazing, but her legs could be the basis of a major religion.

Whodat: More evidence that the Stones play rock while the Beatles played pop.

Not knocking The Stones, but they are frequently dubbed R&B. I guess I was too young to understand the appeal of the Beatles.

That's because of Keith. In one of their documentaries, they wanted to pursue a pop sound but Keith couldn't/wouldn't give up on playing blues bass.

My thought when I was watching the video: 'That beats Tina Turner.'

Nice qualifier there, subby.

Not the best version by a long shot, though.

Slowed down, no urgency to it.

Keith Richards > Mick Jagger.

Great job, Subby. Way to completely fail to grasp the meaning of the word "hot" in terms of sexual attractivity.
