we are still capable of working together to the meet the challenges we face

He is perfectly correct, assuming he actually mean, "We'll do nothing unless the Democrats cave in to all of our demands, thus allowing us to blame them for farking up the country even worst than we did, and we will thereby overcome the challenge of prevailing in the 2012 elections."

Does anyone really care about anything that guy says at all? Hasn't he proven himself to be a complete tool over and over again? Please come in here and tell me about what a great American Boehner is, and how he's doing great things for our country, you right-wing assholes. I hope him and Rush Limbaugh choke on each-other's penises.

That's funny from the party doing everything they can to make sure nothing gets done (including the lowering of the numbers of unemployed Americans/improvement of the economy) just to gain power and make sure the current President doesn't get reelected.

fark boehner and all republicans. they have one interest: destroying america so they can create a fascist theocracy. they are by far the greatest danger this country faces today.

Now is not the time for class warfare. We must all come together to drive the unwashed masses back into the shadows.

Talk about appeasement.

2011-12-10 09:49:42 AM
The GOP has demonstrated that there's only one issue on which they won't budge: raising taxes on the rich at all, even back to Reagan and Clinton rates.

Everything else, even trillions in budget cuts, can go out the window.

Obviously they don't give a shiat about spending or the deficit.

Think about that the next time any of you gullible retards vote for one of those jackasses.

Problem for the GOP is that they are now attempting to bargain from a position of weakness; unlike last year. They've already voted several times against the tax cuts. That is a major political liability. The chance of this House bill passing the Senate is near zero.

That assumes that Obama and the Democrats and Boehner and the Republicans really have any disagreement about objectives and are not just putting on a show of conflict.

The DNC wants to make a program already heading towards insolvency go more quickly to insolvency? Well sir, I already know I won't have the SS benefits when I retire.

Hilarious how Dems actually think the SS cuts are "paid" for. The money goes to the General Fund where it will just be spent anyways. I know! 1 year benefit for 10 years of new taxes and accelerated insolvency of SS! BRILLIANT!

SS is solvent until 2037 and can pay ~80% of benefits after that. 2010 and this 2011 payroll tax cut does not cost SS a thing.

Lighten up a bit. This tidbit will reduce unemployment numbers by about 50%.

FTA:Another potential area for compromise is on the Republican demand for tougher requirements on eligibility for jobless benefits. They want to gradually reduce the maximum number of weeks for benefits to 59 from 99.

See, they are true American patriots!@

I personally think that Boehner is actually a reasonable guy who may still care about American a little bit and would work with everyone to get things done, but he is completely hampered by the New Derp Wave Republicans who all have different invented issues that they won't compromise on no matter what. There is nothing he can do while the New Derp Republicans sit there in there cushy protected taxpayer paid jobs and refuse to budge.

BONER (the preferred spelling) is nothing more than a lounge lizard that got the attention of a bunch of old people to get elected. He needs to go back to haunting the bars of Butler County, Ohio where he belongs.

That orange freak is an embarrassment.

Obama does know he needs to sign the pipeline deal but fears doing so prior to the election is pissing off the greens who don't want cheap energy. He is playing politics too. He'll sign it kicking and screaming the whole way but behind the scene he knows it will also produce jobs and that the deal benefits everyone. Then he'll claim he was the magnanimous one who compromised, when he needs what it does as bad anyone. He is just getting as much mileage out of this from all sides as he can. He'll tell the enviro's that it was the only way to extend the tax cut, and he didn't want to do it but...
He's playing the voters, it's playing politics, he isn't above it, he is it, he defines it and he's very good at it. So good, most on the left refuse to see he is playing them like a cheap fiddle.

Rich get richer. Middle class gets poor. Poor get poorer.

During the Bush administration, who got paid?
During the Obama administration with a Democratic majority in the House and the Senate, who got paid?
After the GOP won the House, who got paid?

I'm not seeing any difference in results.

Democrats get elected, before one word is spoken: WHY HAVEN'T YOU FIXED EVERYTHING YET? BOTH SIDES ARE BAD! I'M GOING BACK TO THE REPUBLICANS!

I don't dispute that. I also wouldn't be the bit surprised if Obama wanted them to do that. This way he can play his game of; "I didn't want to sign the pipeline but I had to because the extension is so important blah, blah"... He needs it for jobs and cheap energy, we all do.
If you can't see his game you're not trying, don't want to believe, or at simply naive.
If he signs a stand alone pipeline deal the enviros will crucify him, this is his way out.
The game, he's playing it right before your eyes.

Everyone knows that Boehner is right. Obama is just playing politics. This tax cut needs to be ended due to our national debt and deficit problems... It only helps people who don't need the help and os bankrupting our nation.

Unemployment benefits last 99 weeks??? Wow, way to coddle the lazy and shiftless. Reducing this will get those lazy layabouts off their asses and working which will get our economy working again.

Why do democrats INSIST on being on the wrong side of every issue?

For shame, for shame.

No. Did you not read it? It applies to everyone.

There is a difference between a broad agenda that is Dem specific and a tactic that is not.
