There is a video on the bottom right of the LA Times blog. (Not the one in the center of the page, a longer one on the bottom right). At about 2:40 a witness clearly describes the shooter as "Shouting Allay Akbar" as he shot.

Why is this no where else in the story?
Would it be in the story if he had yelled "White Power" or "God Bless Donald Trump" or even "What's the Frequency Kenneth?"

The article mentions he was yelling and shooting. So, the yelling part was important. I am sure the readers would not be interested in what he was yelling.

So that brings up my question. Everything else is equal except the shooter is yelling "White Power!". Does the LA Times mention it? My feeling is yes they would not only mention it they would do so very prominently.
