I've never understood why some grown-ass folks emotionally invest themselves to this degree into sports when they're just spectators who have no active effect on the outcome of the game.

When did students start buying alcohol at the games instead of pre-gaming at home or sneaking in flasks?

/friend of mine used to fill a camelback with margaritas for the game.

Any self-respecting sports fan or college student knows how to smuggle in their own booze instead of paying five bucks for a warm cup of beer.

Ugh too much sugar.

I filled a camelbak with oj and vodka for bay to breakers during college. If you know what bay to breakers is then you know why I did that. Not many times you can get away with doing keg stands in the middle of a main street in san fran

Well, I was going to suggest that drunked-up fratboys were the biggest problem, but this makes me re-think my position. Why the hell do colleges have VIP box suites, anyway? Have they no academics that money could be spent on?

Those suites are ultimately money makers, not money takers.

Money to be spent on...not academics.

Unfortunately, this is probably true... especially in Florida.

Make a ban and try to enforce it on people who have actual money and power?

Nah, let's just pass a meaningless token rule against those with no real power to fight it instead.

But if I'm a fan at an away game I can still drink, right? Time to ask yourself which is more important: cheering for the home team, or dressing up in the visiting teams colors and drinking beer.

/Just let that sink in for a minute.

The real problems at college football games:

farm8.staticflickr.com

Alumnus Obnoxious (n): former students who return to a college town to repeat the so-called "glory years" with large vehicles, more beer than friends, and no problems saying "do you know who I am" in a drunken slur.

/Guess where I grew up and went to college.

//TL;DR

///and one time, on that bus, I drank so much tequila that I still can't remember what happened.

That's why in Nebraska it cost 250 thousand for a sky box, to keep the riffraff out.

The REAL problem is people who could never get into "college" and make the real alumni look bad.

Funny how the NCAA bans alcohol sales and advertising at its 'championship' events, but doesn't care during the regular season.
