This would bother me a lot more if my office wasn't 30 degrees today. What the fark is going on in this building right now? There are months where it's better to be cooler inside than out, but the only places that list includes December are in the Southern Hemisphere.

In related news, suck it, rest of the country! Even if it did dip into the 30s for a few nights i'd still rather be here than anywhere else.

Just because somebody doesn't have it as hard as you do doesn't mean that they don't have it rough. I mean, I'm in Florida right now and I have my door open just so I could let a cold breeze in. You know how much a pain in the ass it's going to be to have to walk over and close the door before I go to bed? It's pretty farking rough. Everybody has it hard. It's the 21st Century people, that's how it is.

I love the winter. I can overclock to my hearts content and let my computers heat up up the house.

/70F in Summer, 60-65F in Winter.

Wow, your office is cold. Instead of calling in sick, I would arrive and then call out sick.

Sub-40 weather is really cold for here. My condo doesn't have central heating, so I have to make do with space heaters I don't feel comfortable leaving on overnight. It was 60 degrees in my office this morning.

I went to grad school in Boston, so I know what cold weather feels like.

I know right? Here in Hawaii it got down to 65 degrees the other morning. I actually thought about putting a jacket on! Brrrrrr!

Yea, it was 32 or something here last night in Phoenix. Three months ago it was 100+F. Waaa, where's my snuggie.

HaHa!

The only thing that beats san Diego is every other sports team!

I guess it's what we deserve since it's one of the better places in the country

Life is terrible! I had to turn the air conditioner off in my car today, and I had no idea what to do without that cool, comforting stream of air massaging my wrists as I drive. What's next, long-sleeved shirts? Windbreakers?

/time to prepare for a hard winter

I live in New England. I still turn on the AC whenever the weather outside is above 50 degrees.

When I build my own house, it's going to have walk-in freezers for every room.

I stand guard over a parking lot from 0'dark thirty to just after sun up. I pedal a bike twenty minutes, change into several layers, and stand there for hours on end as my body heat slowly ebbs away. The mornings here are ~25 degrees plus or minus 10, and to be honest I never understood sun worship before, but I do now.

It was awful, I had to put on a sweatshirt *inside* the house!

/Then I had to actually find where the thermostat was.

I spent some time in Southern India. Whenever it got below 75, everyone would put on sweaters.

2011-12-09 11:57:29 PM
It got below 70º last night here in Honolulu. I can only imagine the horror the people of San Diego are going through right now.

man, at the office I used to work in a U during the term breaks when the b**ch old ladie I worked with would take days off I'd (get f*cking wasted college partying on Wed, Thurs nights, come in drunk/hungover stinking of booze) close the office door and just put my head down on the desk, if someone came up and knocked 'come in' *wipe eyes* 'what? email it to me, i'll email you back just gtfo of my office.' the philosophers were cool tho.

Except for someone in the warmer climes 40 is like 0.

For northerners 40 is shorts weather in Spring and jacket weather in the Fall.

Me too. Although around mid February winter gets a little tiresome. So I go to Africa or Southeast Asia or Central America.

Joke's on you, heatwaves here don't get much above 95.

Altitude5280: I could not stand to live in a place with no seasons.

Hey, we *do* have seasons here.

a) Cool and breezy, 60s at the beaches, 70s inland, occasional light rain
b) Sunny, mid70's at the beaches, 80s inland, fog in the morning.
c) Sunny, dry, OMGWTFBBQ MY HOUSE IS ON FIRE
d) kinda chilly, low sixties at the beaches, cooler inland

73F in SoCal today. Went on a hike with the dog in shorts and a T-shirt. She got so hot we went through two water bottles.

Then I washed the convertible Vette for tomorrow.

Suck it, cold people.
