You must live somewhere where it never gets really cold. Up at this latitude it's common for people to have remote starts even.

But yeah, in an accident situation no way would I leave the keys in the car. I don't have one, but this is where one of those keyless entry cars would be awesome. I was riding in a friends prius they had already started, but they apparently left their key inside when switching jackets, and the thing shut down after going like 100 feet and the dashboard went all "KEY NOT DETECTED". Imagine the lulz if it was a theft.

Many Filipinos do have dark skin, and I don't know of any genetic condition that stops them from growing dreadlocks if they feel like it. Also,

I was heading home in my work van (Petersburg, VA!) and stopped at an intersection. There was this rather dirty shifty looking black dude just standing in the middle of the damn intersection.

I was wondering WTF he was doing when he look over at me and then turns his body to face me. "Oh, please don't walk over here" I think. He walks over to my door, tries the handle once and says "pull over, this is a carjack!" and just politely stands there waiting for me to comply. I just sort of look at him for a few seconds, and then say "no." The light turns green, so I start to leave. I get about 10 feet away, stop, roll down my window, and say "You're not very good at this." and then continue on my way home.
