I remember some time back listening to the scanner and the next district up had a call for a hazardous condition of water across the roadway. So they responded in and found that a beaver dam had broken and that the water had subsided and there was no damage to the roadway. So they called back in service reporting such and that they had spoken with the beavers and asked them not to do that again.

The guy is now fire chief.

Lecturing the squirrel was a waste of taxpayer dollars, as they cannot talk.

I suggest that the school retrains its employees to differentiate between humans and animals.

So rodents are running around the "food" prep areas? Nice.

No doubt this was a diversion for whatever the moose was up to.

That. Also, if the incident happened last year, why are we hearing about it in December??? Do they only review security footage annually? Why didnt they just check the damn tape from the get-go?

A verbal warning won't do anything. You need to write a dam letter (new window).

"We didn't have to pay any fines for a false alarm once the fire department realized the little guy was the culprit," according to Todd Henson, director of maintenance and operations for Manatee County Schools.

Instead, they received a large fine from the public health department for rodent infestation.

That little guy sure had a pair, didn't he?

The squirrels are not our friends, the thieving little bastards.

See the bigger problem, aside from your obvious lack of sense of humor, is that you can talk at squirrels all you want, getting them to listen is the damn problem! You can tell as you're talking to them, their little eyes start glazing over, they're thinking about where they hid their nuts, whether they have enough to get through the winter, things like that. Talking to them isn't the problem...getting them to listen is.

Side note: Do you have pets? Do you talk to them? No different.

So they're the teenagers of the animal kingdom.

I thought the last guy did have a sense of humor. You're the one overreacting.

How much are the squirrels paying you?

They're...they're not paying me. I'm getting nothing from them. I mean, ha, it's not like they have my family tied up somewhere and I have to post in support of them or my family gets pelted with nuts or anything! That's...that's just ridiculous!

Please reference 'dry' or 'deadpan' styles of humor. The post you are responding to is quite funny, if you have a sense of humor.
