Well that should help his average.

Damnit, he's one of my favorite players.

And he did this in my neighborhood, too. :(

I was starting to almost feel hopeful again after all the post-season buzz with Kershaw and Kemp, but this is another reminder it's been a miserable farking year.

I hope it's not his third strike.

Arrested 3 weeks ago, and breathalyzer was negative for alcohol. The reason he got arrested was because he was getting pissy with the cops in the hospital. According to the MLB.com article, he was rear-ended and blacked out for a second.

I still don't see LA offering him a contract though, even without this.

The TMZ report is far less boring. (new window)

Loney isn't a great hitter. They'll be better without him, or they would have been had the GM not come out and say they will not be pursuing any more high priced free agents(meaning no Fielder). Maybe they'll trade for Trumbo

Demetrius: First three hit day in a long time.

He managed to hit a Mini Cooper, a Prius and a Mercedes Benz. If he had clipped a Hummer, he would have had the cycle.

Who is the first baseman?

Yeah subby except for the fact that he tested negative for drugs and alcohol and his behavior can be explained by head trauma from the accident. You know the head trauma that caused him to black out for several minutes. But don't let facts stop you.

Give it up, lacrossestar83, Artie Moreno's evil plan has worked out like he hoped.

You should always be careful when you want to take that superior, smug tone, writing things like "don't let facts stop you". It often means you're wrong.

FTA: "A person close to Loney" said he tested negative. So what? The people that count, the CHP, their spokeman Leland Tang said that "results of a blood test taken by officers was not yet available".

/And I'm gonna be hiiiiigggghhhh as a kite by then

From the TMZ article that was linked in the comment that I responded to.

Still, cops say they obtained a blood sample to test for drugs and alcohol ... but it came back NEGATIVE. Now the case is in the hands of the L.A. City Attorney's Office.

So I will take that superior smug tone.

They are from Los Angeles. They just don't reside in the city of Los Angeles at this time.

I'd be DUI too if I learned my job was outsourced to someone whose last name sounds like "poo-holes".

Well if you want to take it there, they are from Brooklyn, they just don't reside in Brooklyn at this time. So is it still ok to call them the Brooklyn Dodgers?

I never said the Dodgers aren't from Brooklyn, and would never, because they are.

I immediately realized that after clicking the submit button. I should have said "Anaheim is not Los Angeles" or something

Yea, and the Washington Nationals aren't from Washington, DC. However, calling them the Montreal National Expos of Washington, DC is just stupid. You know, like calling a team that isn't in the city or county of Los Angeles, "Los Angeles ____." Doubly so when you then go and stick the name of the city they are currently in at the end of the name.

On the other hand, "Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim" somehow does seem less douchy than "Orange County Angels." Probably because then they would be called "The OC Angels" and anything "The OC" makes me go homicidal like a man with a gun at Virginia Tech.

Yet neither the New York Giants nor New York Jets play in the city(or even state) of New York, the Washington Redskins do not play in Washington DC, the Dallas Cowboys do not play in Dallas, and the Detroit Pistons do not play in Detroit.

As a matter of fact, the Angels are from Los Angeles. When they moved to Anaheim Stadium they adopted the name California Angels. The name change was just a reversion to their original name with "of Anaheim" appended to the end.

I thought we were talking about real sports, like baseball, not childish games that don't even break 100 games in a regular season. ...and yes, if I was a fan of any of those teams, I'd be pissed if all of a sudden the New Jersey Jets became the New York Jets of New Jersey.
