Tavaris Jackson is 6th overall so it must be right!

Of course, this is the ranking for games played in Week 13, and not the season overall. In the season long standings, Eli is behind Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Tony Romo, Matt Schaub, Ben Roethlisberger, Matt Hasselbeck and Matt Ryan.

WhoIsWillo: Matt Hasselbeck

Who by the way is having an absurdly good season. Was his accuracy always this good? Some of the throws he makes are just amazing. Now that CJ is running, the Titans are suddenly the danger I've been waiting for.

Well, he did lead the Seahawks to the Super Bowl.

This is the dawning of the age of Tavaris!

1 Aaron Rodgers

3 Tom Brady
4 Tony Romo

While I think that the Total QBR is a flawed stat, that sure is a pretty top 4.

I wonder what Archie thinks about this?

Throwing pick-sixes probably hurt your rating a bit. Probably the final TD doesn't help as much, either, since he was playing down 8 with no chance to gain a lead AND they left a whole damn minute on the clock in order to lose.

Don't get me wrong, those other guys suck, but it's not like Eli dominated.

I'm sorry, but any ranking that doesn't have Tebow at #1 of all time is immediately invalid.

Lost Thought 00: I'm sorry, but any ranking that doesn't have Tebow at #1 of all time is immediately invalid.

It's all the 4th quarter action play that put him over the top.

Your Zionist Leader: I wonder what Archie thinks about this?

He probably doesn't care. Eli is his least favorite Manning. That's why he always looks like he's going to cry.

Won't someone think of the poor action plays?

Hey guys, I heard that in a game last year, Albert Pujols batted .000 and teammate Nick Punto batted 0.500. This batting average statistic is bullshiat.

Yeah, Orlovsky was brilliant in that game ... as soon as his team was trailing 31-3.

And great job by Palko, that 38-yard hail mary (his only TD and 24% of his passing yards) was all him.

I don't disagree with that, it's a BS made up stat based on a BS made up stat. But not for the reasons displayed in this link

Yeah, pretty much all he did right was not throw the ball directly to the Bears. They had 3 points on real drives. And he got yanked in the second quarter, only for Neckbeard to go out injured after one play.

Fortunately for Palko, Hanie chucked one crappy INT, had Roy Williams drop a TD that turned into an INT, and the Bears line reverted to the sieve it was a couple months ago.

Those are the rankings for the games played last weekend.

There's probably only one guy in the league that Tebow can throw it deeper than, and that guy is Palko.

WhoIsWillo: Those are the rankings for the games played last weekend.

Eli Manning, Giants - 23/40 (57%), 347 yards, 3 TDs and an INT.
Blaine Gabbert - 19/33 (57%), 195 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT

just look at the year to date totals and it looks correct.

This rating is better viewed as a season, career long stat. Gabbert is dead last for the year.

So quit your whining it is a superior rating system then the old.

I am sure the donkey that wrote this article trying to argue that Brady should be MVP over Rodgers (new window) is perfectly fine with this metric. When your analysis is clearly flawed, refine it. Or take the ESPN approach and tell everyone that they'll get over it.

There was a time when Hasselback was Elite, maybe he is going to have a Curt Warner style comeback.

Words like "metric" and "statistic" should not be used when talking about Total QB RatingTM. When someone shows me how it's calculated, then I'll care.

I'll preface this by pointing out that I'm a baseball guy, so I look at everything in baseball terms.

Am I correct in understanding that QBR is essentially Win Probability Added, with a few minor adjustments? Because in baseball there's a similar "problem" with WPA & starting pitchers: Pitcher A can throw a perfect game, but if his team scores 15 runs before he even takes the mound, he get as very low WPA. In a different game, Pitcher B might throw a complete game but allow 2 runs, and his team wins 3-2. He'll end up with a much better WPA, even though Pitcher A had a much better game.

I said "problem" because, because even though it looks weird, this is what the stat was designed to do. Team A would've won with just about any pitcher; the fact that they had a very good one is icing. Team B would've lost with most pitchers, but were lucky to have pitcher B.

That seems to be what's going on here. Am I right? It's not saying how "good" the QB is, just how much he added to his team's chance to win.

DeWayne Mann: Am I correct in understanding that QBR is essentially Win Probability Added, with a few minor adjustments?

Sort of, apparently. It's hard to say because they won't share how it's calculated.

photos are shown to chris berman, and very precise calipers measure his resulting erections, which takes into account both length and width, its the most accurate way to measure quarterbacks.

According to ESPN's bullshiat rating Orlovsky had a better 2008 season (0-16 and self-imposed safety) than Rothelisberger (SB Champion).

ESPN is just trying to bring some relevance to their 'The View' style NFL coverage.
Also trying to catch up to site's like coldhardfootballfacts.com that show how to properly use and understand the QB Passer rating. They also have a total QB rating that works.

Browns can score!?
