Minimally Hairy Beer-Powered Simian: I've always wondered: Why is it that we consider an 18 y/o an adult? Why not round it up to 20? I'm sure the reason goes back a long time, some sort of traditional, religious, political explanation, etc.

I'm not sure. It just keeps getting pushed up and up, though. Hell, in the '60s the age of consent was 16 (hence Sweet Little Sixteen, Sixteen Candles, etc).

Now listening to those songs with today's age as a measuring stick, it seems like all those people should've been locked up.

Soon enough I'm sure people will try to have it moved to 21, aligning it with liquor...because clearly that causes people not to drink.

Wedding tackle. I love it! Remember that some men are phallic-centered. Their penis defines them in their minds. They are in love with it and just assume everyone else will be too. Back in the late 90's early 00's, chat rooms were all the rage. By score women, I'm talking about talking to them online and later banging them. A lot of people found serious relationships through them and many more found fark buddies. Finding a one night stand via a chat room was way easier than it ever was at the bar.

I can confirm every claim here is true.

The trick was that the room would be for locals in your area... like "Chillin South Philly" so they would all be locals. And after a few weeks flirting and ragging on each other, people got friendly. Then someone would just say, "Hey, Sat night at midnight... Let's all go to Marsbar on 5th". Everyone would show up. After that first night, everyone got even friendlier, and the chatroom got more raucous. And the ratio of hotties to non-hotties was 1-1.., but still a better radio than average bar scene. Mostly because in the mid-90s, not everyone in the world had a computer; so most were smart, educated, well-read, young, and it wasn't rampant with pedos looking for kids.

it's the only time a clique of friends i was in included in consisted of such odd pairings of friends: a child pediatrician, an exterminator, a musician, a nurse, a student, a lobbyist, a record store employee (what's THAT?), a waitress, a high school teacher, a pilot, a computer tech, a lawyer or 3, a radio dj, a psychologist, etc etc.

/never dated a finer group of women..one right after the other.
