We had a small get together last night at Lucky's on St. Charles. There were about 8-9 TFers there, and it was really laid back for the most part. Just some folks drinking at the bar and saying hi. Except for the really drunk people. They were really fun. And loud.

Expect some people hanging out at a bar, drinking and eating, and maybe some name tags. Haven't decided on that one, yet.

I've never been to one of these. So I'm hoping you will all be wearing shirts with this headline on them so I can recognize you.

depends upon the severity of the party. When I told people that in 5 days I'm getting married, so please fly to new orleans for my marriage, they thought it was impromptu. when I told people that in 5 days I was going to be watching the saints game at my place and having people over, they did not think it was impromptu.

It's impromptu in that these are usually posted in TFark many weeks in advance. 3 days notice is pretty short. You can't make flight arrangements reasonably in that amount of time.

FTGodWin: Any party worth flying to has to takeover part of a hotel for a weekend, at a minimum. Hell, I host an annual three day gathering for my online homies. One-night stands just aren't worth it, unless you're regional.

We've already gotten together a couple of times already this week with some out of towners. As I posted above, most of these are on TF for a while before they go green and TFers make plans to travel for them. Most are multi-day events.

Hence the impromptu disclaimer.

They certainly seem to do so for Chicago ones. Usually what happens is that people time a vacation around it so they can attend the Fark party and also spend a few days in the city on a short vacation.
