The new allegations involving his wife add a brand new level of disgust and horror. More people need to be held accountable for all this.

I haven't heard about that. Link?
I knew that more would surface and more players will be exposed. This is far from over or any where near being resolved.
He is a classic predator and his wife had to have knowledge or somehow be complicit.

Perhaps this line FTFA is what he means...

The accuser said that Sandusky forced the boy to perform oral sex and attempted on at least 16 occasions to anally penetrate him, sometimes successfully. "The victim testified that on at least one occasion he screamed for help, knowing that Sandusky's wife was upstairs, but no one ever came to help him," the grand jury report said.

But how could anyone at Penn State possibly know of this? How could they know that he was buggering kids on Penn State property...that they let him use...and that he frequented years after "retiring" under a cloud...at the same time as sex abuse allegations arose...or that came up at least twice since then. But you can't hold a college's football program responsible for the behavior of a few, sick twisted individuals. For if you do, then shouldn't we blame the whole college system? And if the whole college system is guilty, then isn't this an indictment of our educational institutions in general? I put it to you, Greg - isn't this an indictment of our entire American society? Well, you can do whatever you want to us, but we're not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America. Gentlemen!

It was a ridiculous article. Apparently they are just oblivious and the men are so good at hiding it. I can accept that to a point. But this was too often and common. If she did hear the kid, I hope she goes to jail as an accomplice for letting this happen in her home.

I don't know. Do you consider hearing a 9 year old scream for help a red flag? I mean, how could she have known?!

Exactly. Having multiple kids sleep over is a red flag (unless the kid didn't have a home or was being abused at home.)

It occurs to me that the wifey was likely the one changing the sheets after these kids were raped. I'm sure there was nothing suspicious about blood or splooge on the sheets.

I picture the wife sitting up in their bedroom, shaking and crying softly because she knows what is going on. I don't know if I could handle hearing what she has to say if and when she ever does open up.

There's also the element of a fear of losing everything she has - reputation, social standing, financial security.
Maybe she grew up in an abusive home.
Maybe she thinks sex is dirty and doesn't like it, this keeps him away from her.
Many possibilities.

#9 an #10 came forward just after Sandusky was arrested in October, after a 3 year investigation. A Grand Jury convenes and new charges are filed in under 60 days.

It's criminal that that 8 victims and dozens of witnesses testified about the abuse, and local officials let the case rot from 2008 to 2010. The D.A finally transferred the case to the A.G, citing conflict of interest. Criminal.

Former Centre County District Attorney Michael Madeira could have prevented more boys from being abused. Instead, he protected his friend.

Men don't rape little boys because their wife won't have sex with them. I'm going with the 'better them than me' route. She knew.

I have no idea what Sandusky's wife might or might not have known but I wouldn't call that slam-dunk evidence that she was complicit. The victim says he screamed for help, knowing she was upstairs. Not knowing the house, it's hard to say how well sound travels in it or even where she was. The fact that she was in one place "upstairs" when they went into the basement doesn't mean she stayed there. She could have gone out to get coffee, pick up the mail, gone to another floor of the house. There may have been other kids in the house making noise. I'm not saying this means she never picked up on a thing throughout their marriage/charity work, but this isn't exactly the same as holding the kid down while Sandusky rapes him.

Yeah you are right, but, how many houses have you been to when younger, with older people where you never met the woman of the house? Most older women love to have kids around and to me thats not as creepy as men wanting to have them always around.

She may not have heard him scream but I believe she knew what was going on.

He is in jail btw and did not make bail. As for those wishing he would diaf, I hope for the opposite. I want there to be a trial and I want to see him punished for his actions. I think it would aid in the recovery of the victims to see the man who abused them finally receive his due.

I'd also like to see the enablers squirm on the stand as they testify and watch their own lives come crumbling down. I want to see the University and various school administrators that should be the front line of defense but instead chose to ignore the pleas of a concerned mother lose their jobs and be forever identified with this scandal.

So I guess basically I am being selfish in that I want to see a whole range of people that shirked their responsibilities face retribution in the form of lost jobs, lost reputations, and having fingers pointed at them by strangers with whispers, shaking of heads, and avoidance.

But that's just me.

2011-12-07 05:28:32 PM
She may get plausible deniablity for not hearing the screams - but, she knew her husband wasn't in bed with her. How many times would you allow your husband to be alone in a bedroom with a little boy house-guest? The answer should be never.

Anyone know if they let him back out? You'd think this would be enough to lock his ass up until the trial.
