Psychologists often point out that in order to move on into self reliance, a child must "kill" their parents. I'm pretty sure that an ass whoopin is not prescribed as the best route, but it certainly would have the same unexpected result in allowing the kids to just move the fark on.

I never understood parents that disagree with their adult child's behavior and then let it grow into a violent situation. Kick their ass out the door. WTH is wrong with people?

My dental hygienist said the hardest part of her life was when her 19-year-old daughter got addicted to drugs, but she couldn't kick her out because she didn't want her to die in the streets. My hygienist regularly was beaten up and had her things stolen. Now that her daughter is 30 and married with two kids she says she did the right thing...even though they all still live with my hygienist and neither the husband nor daughter have a job. How is letting your deadbeat daughter mooch off you helping her at all? When she dies her daughter will never be able to support herself because she has had no practice doing it.

Never did the whole 'drinking' thing in high school...Didn't see the point in it.

However, when I got to college, and my dad asked me what I drank I told him- Bud Light. He proceeding to call me a dumbass, and then bought me a bottle of Jack Daniels Black. Needless to say I learned a very valuable lesson: Don't drink shiatty booze.

The bad parenting is based only on raising violent kids who make bad choices. You can't stop kids from every misstep because you can't be there all the time. And if you are, you are a worse parent even than the idiots in this story.

The only time it's somewhere near acceptable is in college. After that, drinking bud light is (or at least it is in the eyes of the people everywhere) is a felony in a all 50 states, and overseas territories.
