I think someone has confused CGI for reality.

If it can be conceived, it will be achieved.

The flexibility looks like it would make that thing harder to use. Easier to stick in your pocket, sure, but harder to use.

Copy cats. The clearly stole the rectangular form from Apple.

Could see a bluetooth equivalent that's small enough to go on/in your ears without being visible.

/still wondering why there haven't been more e-ink phones with today's tech

In other news, Samsung is making Sci-fi commercials to make it look like they will one day have a competitive product.

Big Rock Star: In other news, Samsung is making Sci-fi commercials to make it look like they will one day have a competitive product.

"A substantial jump in smartphone sales year over year was enough to push Samsung past rival Apple to become the world's largest smartphone vender in the September quarter."

Ya, sounds like they aren't very competitive at all.

DVDave: Anybody got a non-.ru link?

It's yet another Youtube video embedded in some guy's crappy blog. Or in this case, the KGB's Pravda.

Can we just link to Youtube (new window)? Please?

Nearly. Managed Services. .ru is pretty much blocked all-around.

The thing that bothers me about this stuff isn't the flexible screens and whatnot - that's honestly not too far off from happening shortly. It's the complete and total lack of a battery, processor, and the other innards. It's nothing BUT screen. Where is the rest of the device? In a pocket? Is it magically self powered?

How long before Apple claims that Samsung stole their design?

Iplaybass: How long before Apple claims that Samsung stole their design?

I just submitted this with a headline to that effect.

Checked the geek tab before submitting, but i really need to visit the video tab more often, apparently.

We still have 3-4 years to achieve that dream.

Still waiting for my flying car.

Nevermind all that, look at that 32,000 calorie gummy bear in the sidebar!

Where will the Samsung logo go so people know who makes the product I'm using?

It's in the cloud, man!

Nobody really wants that. Apple knows this already.

The future as in over on the geek tab?

Tech gets to a point where I don't want it any smaller. The smallest thing I want to handle as removable media is a CF card. I don't want to be responsible for anything smaller than that. If something needs a micro-SD card, have it built in to the board. If it needs to be ejected and moved around, make it as big as a CF card. If that size is considered a waste of space then put 100 of whatever it is in a CF card sized package. If that gets too expensive then just fill it out with styrene or plastic. If I humans have to deal with it with their hands on an everyday basis, it should be at least 1 inch by 1 inch. And it needs to be droppable and highly water resistant.

For what it's worth, Malwarebytes blocked the connection when I tried to go to the site, said it could be malicious.

Whatever. if that was such a good idea Steve Jobs would have made one already

Forget the translator they show in the commercial, has no one thought of the porn app possibilities? Hold the transparent screen up in front of some hottie and your MagicTab shows them naked. That's the commercial they need to make.

Does anyone actually think that this is real?

Really, we're getting excited about some CGI concept devices? Watch any futuristic hollywood movie to see the same thing.. doesn't mean it'll be a reality anytime in the near future.

My favorite part was half way through when photons bounced off of nothing into the lens of the camera. I'm sure were just a couple years away from a handheld device that bends a photons path.
