farking cowards. Leaving kittens to die in a bag was easier than taking responsibility for their bad decisions, like keeping unfixed cats.

This would make a great Caturday story.

That's how I got my kitten. Someone threw a box of kittens from the highway and mine was the only one to survive. Some people saw this and found this little black puffball by the side of the road and handed it to the humane society a few hours before I got there. When I first got her she was able to fit all 4 paws in my hand. She's still very skittish 8 years later.

This is a farming region, and there are always the trashy variety of rural folk who harbor the old prejudices about cats. These people drown or abandon kittens because to them, an animal has to earn its keep or it has no right to live. Pest control doesn't count, I imagine because these people generally live in some degree of squalor.

I read a similar story (new window) on Imgur last night.

As a child, I would often play by the creek near our home. One morning I fished a trash bag out of the water. 6 suffocated lab puppies not more than a week old. bastard

Repeat, but I don't care. Never been much of a dog guy, but that's a hell of a dog.

It says something that I'm surprised the 'lol, just stupid animals' brigade hasn't shown up saying how animals are property and can be treated however and that they've done something similar. I thought to myself, if I never get anything else for Christmas, I need a good, happy thread about cute kittens without some ITG dickbag dropping in.

/watch, in the time that I've written this...

Oh, I'm sure the cat owner could be stuffed into a duffel bag, and left on a dark curve of a highway.

I just don't understand how a person can do something like that and live with themselves. I move snails out of the driveway so they won't get squashed by cars. How can you listen to the meows of the kittens and still throw them in the street? And I don't particularly like cats, but I would never harm one. Disgusting

I feel really bad for the driver of the car that ran over what they probably assumed was an empty bag in the middle of the road. When they see this story on the local news they're going to feel awful.

This is why I avoid anything larger than a soda can, if I can. Sometimes I can't, but I'm always afraid that if I don't avoid a bag in the road it's going to end up having a baby in it or something.

Fark the asshole who left those kittens to die.

cowgirl toffee: There were probably 5 kittens in the bag. Ask the dog were the other 3 are.

You prompted me to post this; An hour after our cat gave birth, my mom put mama, and her new kittens out back with her beloved collie "pete". Ten minutes later the back yard was covered in fur, and blood, with nary a kitten to be seen. Mom still doesn't believe her Pete could have done such a thing!

This is a great story and I'm glad the kittens are safe!

But, for Christ's sakes, the dog goes from being named "Regan" to "Reagan" within a paragraph or two. Is it too much to ask that journalists proof their shiat?!

I'm not a grammar jerk here on Fark talkbacks, but when you're a professional being paid to write, do your job!

Yeah...a bag fool of kittie (poop) biscuits and dead cats? The dog was offering to share and is probably pissed that his owner bogarted his score.

Fark the people who ditched the cat, but I think we tend to give pets too much credit with these articles about dogs rescuing food.

That is terrible. Maybe there is a way your mom can learn if the collie is eating kittens. Sometime or another I had read a previous Fark thread and it had something in it giving Farkers advise on how you can tell if a dog is eating kittens.... I can't remember all off the details, but I believe it had something to do with putting lipstick on its butt-hole.

I ended up getting a scotty dog from rescue who had endured being stuffed into a trash bag and thrown onto the side of the road. A Good Samaritan saw the bag moving and rescued him. Mac ended up having to have his spleen removed due to being hit/kicked nearly to death as well. Damnit, sometimes I really hope there is an afterlife. If there is, Imma gonna spend it with steel toe boots kicking the shiat out whoever did it to him.

Now that I've depressed you, let me tell you a little about Mac. He was large gray scotty and had a bark like The Incredible Mr. Limpet's sonar yell. That "Whaaarrrr"!! His favorite thing to do was to get under the Christmas tree and use it as his cave. Also, he used the lower branches as a back scratcher, resulting in the tree swaying like a belly dancer.

\I miss him so much.

Both my cat and my dog were found abandoned (at different times and places) on the side of a road, so I am not getting a kick out of the sick fark that would seal up a litter of kittens in a bag and throw it in the road. If you don't want kittens, spay and neuter your pets, ya dumb rednecks!

Anyway, I hope the doggie got a nice treat for its trouble.

If someone is the type of person who feels it necessary to kill baby animals, they should at least have the testicular fortitude to do it themselves, by hand.

Disgusting, horrible, so many words cannot begin to describe this cruel act.

I am surprised though that this same reaction is not elicited (or at least as vocally) when there is a murder. Just strange.

Or, you know, once.

I'd imagine if someone were to seal a bunch of human babies in a bag and drop the bag on the highway, you'd get a similar reaction.

When I was cutting the grass at the local animal shelter one morning, a guy walked up to the fence with a plastic bag in his hand. He tossed the bag over the fence and stood there watching me for a minute. I noticed the bag was moving so I ran to it and saw a litter of kittens in there, no more than a few weeks old. I used my work radio to call the volunteer vet out to check them out and ran after that SOAB. When I caught up to him, he was was trying to get into his truck and with all my strength I pulled him back out and punched the living crap out of him. He kept shouting that he was going to sue me and the shelter and called the cops on me. The police arrived and got both our stories, then went inside to talk to the vet. As the police came back out one stopped and said "good job, we got your back on this." They wrote the guy a ticket for animal cruelty and I never saw that guy again. And the kittens all survived, but one had a broken leg and for a month had a lamp shade and a pink cast.

Anyway, I thought this thread needed some good cat stories, because the article is too depressing.

I'm not sure knowing which is better, living in a literal Schrodinger's scenario or confirming that she is dead.
