What is netball?

It's basically basketball with no dribbling - once you receive the ball you must stop in your tracks and pass. Everyone is assigned a position, and that position determines which third(s) of the court that player is allowed to be. Players must shoot from inside a shallow 3-point-line thingo, and each score is worth 1 point. There is no equivilent of a 3-point shot.

In countries that play it, it is considered only a womans sport, however there's plenty of ametuer leagues around that encourage mixed teams. It's quite fun to play, and a good way to meet ladies too.

I would be in full support of this completely replacing the NBA. In fact, I might actually go to a game or most certainly watch on TV.

I've been to two NBA games in the past 8 years. Neither was worth it.

I'm willing to start a petition. Who's with me?

Also, once an attacker gets the ball near the net (inside the "goal circle"), the defense has to keep three feet away and can't really challenge the shot. So where basketball is at its most exciting, in netball, the game grinds to a halt as the shooter slowly takes her time to line up her shot. Imagine if every shot in basketball was a free throw. Yeah, is boring.
