'Scrambling' or 'Scrambled'?

Bless you, LT.

One would think that a second-year pro QB with only 3 prior starts being 6-1 this year would suffice.

I was going to look up Tebow's yards/attempt, because I figured maybe it would be favorable to other quarterbacks. It turns out nfl.com doesn't list him as a QB since he doesn't throw at least 14 passes per game.

I usually like Steve Young's commentary, he's fairly well spoken and insightful most of the time. He also seems like one of the very few guys that actually voices his own opinion, as opposed to one that's been fed to him via ESPN, etc.

As for Shannon Sharpe, well:

He is not a scrambling quarterback. He is a halfback that takes a direct snap and either runs or hands the ball off. Sometimes he might pass. Within the next few years if he wants to stay in the NFL you will see him playing either Tight End or Receiver.

Again, why do people hate on him so much for that ad? It didnt say that you were going to burn in hell if you had one or that you were an evil person, it simply stated there were alternatives, you farks act like he and his mother said they were going to personally going to come to your house and kill them if they got an abortion.

F*ck I hate the man since he played at florida but farks like you are almost forcing me to want him to succeed.

No he's not. Granted he has a lot of work to do on his passing technique. But it's ridiculous to keep calling him a halfback or tight end. That meme has been going since his junior year in college, and it becomes tedious.

Personally, it's not that I think he's crazy extreme or anything. I just hate having politics(and to a lesser extent, religion) in my football. See: Hank Williams, Jr.

Personally, I don't dislike him because of that ad but if I were to venture a guess why people do, it would be because of everything the organization behind the ad (Focus on the Family) stands for - anti-choice, anti-gay rights, etc.

I don't like Tebow not because of Tebow himself, but because of all the slobbering he's been getting from the major sports networks (primarily ESPN) since being drafted. I'm sick of hearing that he's courageous, or has more heart than other quarterbacks just because he's so awful for most of his games and then ends up winning at the end.

How the hell Tebow gets more love from the media than guys like reigning Superbowl champion and Superbowl MVP and current front runner for 2011 MVP Aaron Rodgers, I'll never know.

"What makes 2011 so unique is we have seen quarterback play in this league at such a high extreme and in Tim's case, the bottom rung when it comes to completions."

It's called football for a reason!

And yet the Broncos are also in the playoff hunt in this pass-happy league because of an old-fashioned formula based on stout defense and a strong ground game.

Woody Hayes and Al Davis together: "Just win, baby!!"

I figure the Broncos will probably make the playoffs. It's next year that will tell the tale - after coaches have had the off-season to figure him out.

/NOT a Tebow fan
//even less of a Broncos fan

Note that NFL.com does not show a lot of backup QB's who have come in's stats due to this as well, because it's 14/games of the season, not games played. If you take Tebow's 158 pass attempts and divide them by the 7.5 games he played significant time, he throws an average of 21.06 passes per game: 15.8 if you count ten games, IE the ones he came in just on wildcat.

ongbok: He is not a scrambling quarterback. He is a halfback that takes a direct snap and either runs or hands the ball off. Sometimes he might pass. Within the next few years if he wants to stay in the NFL you will see him playing either Tight End or Receiver.

Yeah, it's not like he could complete 66 of his 15 passes in one game or something.

I see you also must know him personally to know he has great enough hands to play Tight End or Reciever.

No, I'm saying that their praise and attention that they and other players get isn't proportional to their abilities and success they've achieved in the NFL.

I dislike Brett Favre for much the same reason. It seemed like every time he got a farking bowel movement ESPN would lead off Sports Center with a story about him. If it wasn't for that, I'd merely be indifferent towards him, instead of severely disliking him.

Tebow doesn't have any more control than you do over the fact that no one will shut up about him, so disliking him for that reason is silly.

This is what all the Tebow nonsense looks like:

If you're thinking of kissingsuzykolber., that was Namath, not Theismann.

As much as I'd love to hate on Tebow (Charger fan), you can't argue with the fact that the entire Bronco team has gone from "Suck for Luck" to fighting for a playoff spot since Teebus was named the starter. I think a lot of the media hype has to do with the fact that, when you actually watch him play, you come away with the impression that he is a bad to mediocre QB talent-wise, yet he (or someone else) always seems to make some key play when it absolutely counts. It's baffling, really.

Well, it seems like he's the only person to take heat off of the Pack's quest for perfection. It's still being discussed, but it seems like in previous years, a 12-0 record would utterly dominate any other story. It'll be interesting to see how the media would treat a 15-0 team against Tebow if he keeps winning or has a playoff berth by then.

Could be the opposing teams are trying so hard not to be embarrassed (or teebowed) they make silly mistakes that don't occur in the previous 3.75 quarters. Loss of composure.

Elway's comments are well chosen:

"I know everybody wants to know, but our future's right now," Elway told 102.3 FM The Ticket in Denver on Monday. "When you look at where we are, the future is the Chicago Bears (the Broncos' upcoming opponent).

"I think the city's excited about it, the fans are excited about where we are right now. The future is now, and I think the key thing is for us to continue to keep focused on each game coming up and try to win this division and get in the playoffs and see what happens."

He's being a realist. Whether or not Tebow can sustain success for the long run, the Broncos are winning right now and they should try to capitalize on their [success/ luck] and make something of it. It can't last. Look at how Buffalo and Detroit started so hot and now are crashing and burning.

But he's also said things that indicate the long-term future of the franchise lies elsewhere. My personal hope is that Elway can somehow trade Tebow for Jacksonville's first-round pick (right now it would be #4. Then, trade both picks (#4 and #26) and some other lower-round picks for Indy's #1, and draft Luck.

This is coming from a kid who was a Broncos fan in the 80's, when at Super Bowl time the Speed Limit 55 - Denver 10 jokes were prevalent. But trading for the Colts #1 overall to grab the next sure thing from Stanford? It's such a silly self-fulfilling prophecy, I'd sell my autographed Gerald Willhite rookie card to make it happen.

So your plan involves the Broncos betting the farm on a guy who might work out, to get rid of the guy actually getting it done now. I remember the opinions being pretty divided between Leaf and Manning in their draft, how did that end up working out?

You just described the first 30 years of football after they legalized the forward pass When's your cutoff date for calling that position "quarterback"?
