I only know the Foo Fighters. They always make great videos.

Godscrack: I only know the Foo Fighters. They always make great videos.

Yeah, the Foo Fighters are cool. I'm not saying that Kurt offing himself was a good thing, that would be distasteful. But Dave made the best of the situation.

Came for Lonely Boy, leaving satisfied. Doesn't matter how many times I watch it, I crack up every time.

I've heard of all of six of those artists.
Foo Fighters, Black Keys,Beastie Boys, Mastodon, Radiohead, Superchunk

I'm surprised I knew that many.

That's 2 more than I've heard of... Black Keys? Superchunk?

Where do they play music videos on TV, anyway? Definitely not MTV...

Ah, The National. I love those guys.

I really dug the "Romance" video by Wild Flag, if only for the pie chart and Arcade Fire jokes. I think it has more to do with the fact that I love the song so damn much.

The video for "Call Your Girlfriend" by Robyn is great. One long take, filled with raw emotion. I don't see how Robyn isn't the biggest pop star on the planet.

They still make filler for the 45 seconds between commercials?

The Onion is prophetic: That's 2 more than I've heard of... Black Keys? Superchunk?

I've heard of them. Couldn't name a single song of theirs, but I've at least heard of them.

In other news, there were twenty-five music videos made in 2011

If only there were some place for artists to upload their videos and get millions upon millions of views for those videos.

OK Go's Muppet Show Theme (new window) came out this year.

So, this list fails without Muppets.

Scratch that, I know VH1 but thought it was just a channel with a series of "best of..." shows with sub-par comedians narrating.

Holy sh*t, it appears Deer Tick has a new record out that I was previously unaware of. As well as Battles.

Thanks, Subby!

Maybe not the best video of the year, but definitely my favorite song of 2011

'WHIRRING' THE JOY FORMIDABLE (new window)

I would LOVE to see these guys live.

Anybody know that Spanish music video from the past year or so that starts out with two women flashing cars from an overpass, then continues with that level of randiness for the duration? Ring a bell? Anybody?

I think it's a great video. I like the "bullet-time" stuff they do. I honestly don't like the video because I think she's hot. That doesn't detract from my liking the video, but I honestly think it's just a cool video that perfectly fits the song.

Superchunk was probably my favorite band from the 90's. They still rock.

That Battles one was a pleasant surprise. I saw them in Chicago last summer performing the same song, only they didn't have Gary Numan with them so they just projected a recording of him singing while the camera panned around him. My friend and I weren't familiar with Numan at the time so we spent most of the song wondering what the hell Mark E. Smith was doing with Battles. CSB.

tuneyards video was just okay, which is a shame because they absolutely KILL live.

Wow, and I thought this would be strangest Spanish language music video I'd watch this week (warning: some great views, although no nudity).

Dave Grohl will beat you with a piece of beef jerky if he has to.

I only know the Battles video because of this:
