The Big East is set to add Boise State, San Diego State, SMU, UCF and Houston as it begins to rebuild its league,

And yet the Atlanta Falcons were in the NFC West for many years.

They must've used the Chewbacca defense, because none of this makes sense.

Well to be fair, they technically are west of one school.

Given that they'll murder the entire conference, I think it's a good possibility that Boise will play for a national championship next year.

They were scared to join the SEC because they are scared. The SEC would beat the best teams in the NFL if they played in the NFL. This is because the SEC has what physicists call "SEC speed". People call Usain Bolt the fastest man in the world but I can name a hundred players in the SEC that are faster than Usain Bolt. Boise State would have a negative number of wins by the end of the season. That is because the SEC is that good. And so forth. Or Something.

Why the hell would the Pac 12 want them? Outside of being a big fish in a small college football pond, Boise State has exactly squat else to offer.

And since when is the Big East a "real conference"?

Don't they consistently beat big programs in bowl games? You'd think owning your conference for a decade and beating big time programs would get you at least a bit of respect

Tebow was in the SEC and therefore possesses "SEC Speed". Maybe that's why he has the best QB in the league and is undefeatable?

Um, they have two Fiesta Bowl trophies and beat the SEC East champion this year.

Putting a team from San Diego and one from East Hartford, CT in the same conference can only be taken as a move done to mock the entire system.

FTFA: The Big East is set to add Boise State, San Diego State, SMU, UCF and Houston as it begins to rebuild its league, with an announcement expected as early as Wednesday, sources confirmed to ESPN.com.

I've always had a soft spot for the Aztecs ever since they scared the shiat out of us in 2003 in our first game. Their fans, which couldn't have been more than 3,000 strong absolute max, were loud as hell. After we escaped, 13-9, while walking back to our vehicles there were some SDSU fans who were very cool. I keep in contact with a lot of fans who I've been lucky enough to come into contact with at Ohio Stadium over the years and I wish I'd asked them for their email addresses. We wished them luck at The Big Library next year and shook hands. A small part of me will always be jealous of them for the thrill they most assuredly had as they were oh so close to beating the defending national champs when their team was on the road. The craziness that was going on in their oh so tiny little section is something I will never get to feel, at least on the same scale as they had. That, and their cool fans we talked with on our trek back to our respective vehicles made me always hope I see that they got a W when I see scores come across ever since.

I've always maintained that SEC homerism is an offshoot of civil war butthurt. The SEC is the best conference because your forefathers enslaved the forefathers of the current players, and then due to a systematic oppression of blacks, those blacks had to stay in the south, thus making SEC country the best recruiting grounds in the world.

Except for maybe UCF none of these really make sense for the big east if you just really wanna join an AQ conference. I think the Big XII would be a better choice of rebuilding AQ conference for them.

What's the thoughts on Urban Meyer? I'm thinking great short term hire and terrible long term. Kinda like Michigan if they got Harbaugh

You sound upset. I'm sorry your school's football program is sub-par. Have you thought of recruiting in Detroit?

2011-12-06 07:14:55 PM
Here's a good example of just how f*cked up the BCS really is, both using my alma mater:

2004 Louisville (CUSA): 10-1, Liberty Bowl ($1.7 million payout)

2011 Louisville (Big East): 7-5, one UConn TD away from Orange Bowl ($17.5 million payout)

Let's not forget that UCLA (6-7) was one win away from the Rose Bowl this year.

Why didn't you ever answer the question about Boise never beating anyone big. I though they needed to play a big time program so they could most assuredly be shut up?

They need to play a real conference ALL season. Even Michigan could look good with their schedule.
