martissimo, I'm probably going to look foolish, but remember I said Plzen had a chance to take a point if the December game didn't matter.

They need the point to get to Europa, and we're resting lots of folks, it's possible

"Europa League"?

ATTEMPT NO LANDINGS THERE

2011-12-06 02:56:14 PM
give me doughnuts: "Europa League"?

"The UEFA Europa League (previously called the UEFA Cup) is an annual association football cup competition organised by UEFA since 1971 for eligible European football clubs"

Looks like Chelsea really doesn't want the Europa League

GolTV has a banner ad for their Clasico coverage on their website. ESPN Deportes is also airing it.

Huh. I guess they haven't updated the listings on Direct yet then. Never mind. Also I don't get Deportes for some reason, I think on Direct you need the Spanish package.

Firstrowsports is good as well
C'mon Valencia- they need a draw!

2-0 Milan, Pato and Robinho in a matter of minutes after the 2nd half starts

Just saw the goal clip on Arsenalist of the two Olympiakos goals. I mean, just wow.

Fabianski apparently was having a shocker before he got carted off the field. Clearly, the Verminator's secret plot to do him backfired badly, because Mannone's shambolic performance on that second goal was as if he was Almunia on crack.

Good for Olympiakos. On the one hand, if they hold out, they might be able to add a big scalp to their history.

On the other, Dortmund is up, meaning Olympiakos would qualify for the knockout by playing Arsenal's B-team, while Dortmund and Marseille get screwed because they had to face the Arsenal A-team

Everyone had to face the Arsenal A-team. If Olympiakos qualifies, it's because they did better over the course of 6 games. BD only makes it through if Olympiakos loses, and they win by 4 goals. Marseille qualify by winning today.

Any of those situations could have changed by those teams winning one of the 5 earlier games. Arsenal did their job, and (like any team would) are resting some players. BD and/or Marseilles have only themselves to blame for leaving it late.

Marseille perk up as Arsenal pull one back. A tie in that game sends them through (assuming they win or tie).

2011-12-06 04:10:53 PM
Barca's B-team up 3 nil, so the Plzen fans are partying knowing they play on in Europa

Chelsea is done scoring for the night. ;)

LOL Marseille.
Here I was thinking Dortmund should give it away on purpose to make things even and then Marseille scores twice in three minutes.

Man City v Bayern Munich OR Man United vs Basel?
I can only watch one live from work today (taping the rest at home :b)

I can't find Bayern Munich vs. Citeh anywhere on my TV, so I guess i'll watch Real Madrid vs. Ajax.

So many good games today.

Time to bring this one out again.

Man United's last 25 away games in the Champions League: 16 wins. 1 defeat. 11 goals conceded.

/Still not confident.

Really? I was looking at the point standings and City seems to be all but out of it, where as United and Basel are 1 point apart.
Of course, United is showing 'live' on FSC at home, so I'd be able to get back and watch that one right away :b

2011-12-07 02:45:40 PM
Mourinho is resting a bunch of players, including San Iker. Barca basically did the same thing yesterday, so both teams are gearing up for the Clasico.

2011-12-07 02:49:10 PM
Bayern is doing the same thing. I made a bet that they were going to beat City damn it, they better.

i thought you were asking strictly from the standpoint of which would be a better match. i honestly don't expect basel to put up much of a fight, though obviously i'd be quite giddy if they did...
