While I agree with you, in Suh's case, he hasn't exactly proven himself to be a paragon of honesty and personal responsibility in the past.

Would you mind providing proof that the Duke lacrosse team in question did anything illegal in the least?

That was my point. They did not do anything except invite the wrong stripper to their party. Michael Irvin was not guilty of rape, Beiber is not the father. I think Suh is an asshole for his on field behavior. I just find it rather interesting that the cops found no problems with his story but two friends are now claiming injury because some ambulance chasing lawyer probably got to them

Hrm. Going to need to get quite a bit more information about this before forming an opinion on the matter.

For the accident itself, it sounds to me like Suh was doing something stupid - driving carelessly (which he has a history of doing. See 2009 when he crashed into parked cars, totalling one of them. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that he has been pulled over by cops and just given warnings been asked for his autograph, making reckless driving a habit of his.) and crashed. The passengers got hurt, as tends to happen in car accidents. Suh, being a man and a football player, looking at the minor injuries of the women and scoffed, as they probably aren't all that bad. Being a professional football player, he doesn't have the same judgement of injury as a normal person, so an injury that he would simply walk off is something that the woman needs to go to the hospital for, since she doesn't have 10+ years of heavy physical training to withstand blunt force trauma, like Suh does.

Eh. It sounds like Suh is trying to minimize the damage to his already battered image, and he started as soon as he called 911. That (mostly) rules out being impaired, though there's always the possibility that the police overlooked the signs because it's Suh, man, that's N-howdoyousayit Suh!

What's got me scratching my head - and is in a different article, not this one - is that the women claim to be afraid for their safety due to retaliations from him, his family and his friends, which is why they aren't releasing their names. That's getting my Skeptical Radar up and buzzing. Could certainly be wrong about that, but I'm leaning toward the opinion that Suh did something stupid ("Let's see how fast this baby goes from 0 to 60!"), then came up with a reasonable sounding explanation that may not be entirely factual (ie: There Was No Taxi) and can be proven to be a lie. (Suh: "Oh crap, how do I pass this off to the cops?" Passenger: "Erm, you swerved to miss a cat?" Suh: "No, I used that one in Nebraska. I've got it! A Taxi!") The passengers know it. And they know he's worth millions of dollars.
