Why do they call male dogs 'boys'?

No wonder there's so much pedophilia in the church.

Had 28 between 2 dogs at the same time.

Luckily labs are easy to sell. Glad my family isn't into breeding anymore.

That one dog with the black hair must be the runt.

Tale/tail said owners do own both dam & sire. After they place all but the one of this litter they say they'll keep, they need to get both parents fixed.
Wonder how many Irish setters languish in pet shelters because no one can or will give them a furr-ever home?

When I was a kid our black lab had 27 puppies in two litters. Then we got her fixed.

Since this is from the Daily Mail, I'll assume it's fake until a more reputable news source reports on it.

So this is it? Can no one read between the lines online anymore? Do you have to spell it out? We don't need anything after subby's first period.

And they tend to be high strung. I had one as a kid and wouldn't own another.

When I was a kid my aunt and uncle had an Irish setter and she was the sweetest dog ever. They seemed to be popular then (seventies) but now I literally can't remember the last time I've seen one out and about.

yes yes cute cute..
I like dogs. We bread Soft Coated Wheatons for a while. AKC registered and everything. I lived next door to some folks that kept 3 Setters at all times. Replacing the oldest when it died with a new one. From about 1984- 2009 this went on. BTW..The picture of the Setter on the Milk-Bone Dog treats box for large dogs was theirs. Ivan was his name if you were wondering. He was unusually large for the breed, Especially thick skulled, and not a brain cell in his head to spare. Mowing the yard for 2 hours would make all 3 dogs go full-retard, Ivan would go a notch past berserk the entire time. I hated those dogs.
One day, I think it was somewhere around 2005, the police showed up and handed them some type of ticket for noise, it was the first of a half dozen I find out. The neighbor asked if the dogs noise bothered us.... I looked Her dead in the eye and said... 20 years of listening to the those dumbshiats bark and now you ask...

//No it wasn't me.. I had murder on my mind not tickets.
///....Rest in hell Ivan, you slobbering, inbred,shiat-eating, barkaholic, farktard.

daveb0rg: friggin breeders

Ah, there's always one. There are perfectly legitimate reasons for getting a purebred dog, as long as you know what you're looking for. With a reputable breeder, you can almost guarantee that their dogs will match the breed temperaments and will be generally healthy. If you know you want a healthy dog that doesn't shed a lot, is relatively responsive to training, and is basically a cuddlebug, you could hit a hundred shelters looking for a mutt that's juuuuuust right. Or you could look online for a local Bichon or Miniature Poodle breeder.

I'm all for adopting from shelters. Every one of my pets was from a shelter or rescue, even my late German Shepherd and my current Great Dane (although I do know that the Great Dane was originally from a local breeder & have her papers). But I don't knock people for using a breeder.

Owners of puppy mills, on the other hand, should be flayed alive.

Regardless of 'oh she should have been chopped', this is the one thing the Mail does well. And they are well cute. I'd adopt an armful.

that actually seems like a breed that can be fairly easily sold, which since they have a designated male for looks like they were going for. There's a good market for purebred pups, and with that coloring I'd say they could get a couple houndred per if not more.

Anyone else first read that as Irish Settler and wonder what the fuss was about?
