I may be looking too far into this. But it seems to me that they are looking to take away birth control away from minorities. The implications would be that more pregnancies would limit the options of non-white females, as pertaining to life choices, thus limiting the chances of their offspring being successful.

Wow, that's really evil. Seriously...

You're seeing the end result - a very probably unintended one at that.

No, these idiots don't think that much. To them it's a matter of doing whatever they can against abortion, because it's become a basic tenet of their party. I honestly don't think they look at it any harder than that.

So you'd rather the GOP advocate abortion for minorities to preempt future generations of Democratic voters?!?!

Yes.

Benevolent Misanthrope: a very probably unintended one at that.

I highly doubt that it is unintended.

I'd like to propose a bill that mandates everyone who votes for this f*cking thing has to adopt the kids the parents don't want.

Seldom is the question asked; "How many children go unadopted in America every year?"

2011-12-06 02:49:04 AM
They want to take away a woman's right to choose, and at the same time make it seem they're in favor of civil/women's rights, which they never have been.

NewportBarGuy: Seldom is the question asked; "How many children go unadopted in America every year?"

If the GOP had their way it would be 0, because fark what the women want--they had the kid, they should take responsibility for their sin and raise it*. And next time maybe they'll get married to someone of the opposite gender first.

*except for their own families. Abortion/adoption is always an option for them.

Might as well mandate that breathing air makes you a Christian or some other nonsense where the right takes a universal but mundane act or thing and champions it as their own idea.

I want someone to go up to someone from the GOP and tell them how many of the original 13 states had legal abortions back when the United States was founded. The reaction, no matter what, would be epic.

2011-12-06 04:14:23 AM
If I were a descendant of either Susan B. Anthony or Frederick Douglass, I would be looking for a way to sue the pants off this idiot.

WhyteRaven74: The reaction, no matter what, would be epic.

The reaction would be "Harrumph!"

The GOP has latched onto an alternate reality regarding American history in general and the founding fathers in particular.

Honestly...really? You'd think the GOP wouldn't have a problem with rape victims having abortions....

2011-12-06 04:33:08 AM
If the GOP applied this level of creativity toward actually solving problems and improving things, we'd have flying cars and I'd be getting handies from three-titted alien whores.

This pisses me off.

Instead of wasting time and money trolling up legislation that has no shot in hell of passing and just stirs up everyone, why not try... ya know...GOVERNING THE DAMN COUNTRY??

Good for you, you made your stupid racist/sexist point against abortion.

now retire and let someone run who might actually try to fix real problems.

I hope the ghosts of Susan B. Anthony and Frederick Douglass go all poltergeist-y on his ass.

2011-12-06 06:06:26 AM
According to Franks, a ban on these types of abortions is needed because minority babies are aborted at five times the rate of white babies ...

You know that somewhere a village is missing its idiot.

All you gotta do is vote on this one and then we'll get to a jobs bill... Promise!

I can also see them using this as a backdoor rationalization for doing away with affirmative action. After all, if liberals don't want them to have special rights in the womb, then certainly they shouldn't have special rights in school or hiring, right? *eyeroll*.

I think it less likely that family planning advocates secretly are aiming at the genocide of minorities than the Iran-Contras drugs for guns trades intended to get the US inner cities addicted to crack as a means of genocide. Lt. Ollie North really didn't care either way what happened in the inner cities.

U.S. Census data shows that certain populations have 'son-biased" ratios

If memory serves, all populations have son-based ratios. 105 boys are conceived for every 100 girl conceived.. From that point on males have a higher mortality rate. Around 102 boys are born for every 100 girls. The ratio hits 1:1 around the age of three. Then women pull into the lead and never look back.

Cute, white infants with 10 perfect little toes and 10 perfect little fingers are very scarce. OTOH, there's a surplus of children with any physical/mental impairment. Add any color of skin other than pink/white and you have society's disposables.

I used this argument once and thought it was really well done, but the Christian woman I told it to just seemed like her brain short-circuited:

If your stance is that a baby is a human being from the point of conception, please think about the following:

Ultraviolet light is used in many applications to kill bacteria and other microorganisms. It works by damaging the DNA to the point where the organism simply dies.

Many women have experience erratic periods, where they have a period appear out of nowhere, like in the middle of their cycle. Many scientists are beginning to feel that these "ghost periods" are actually miscarriages of VERY young babies, those that have just begun attaching to the uterine wall. The embryo dies and is flushed from the body in much the same manner as a period.

So, it's highly possible that when a woman has a "ghost period", she's actually having a miscarriage. Without knowing the cause, one could say it's highly possible that the miscarriage is being caused by such benign things as sunlight...or alcohol...or even stress.

Now, since there's absolutely know way to tell for sure if a woman can be pregnant in the first month of a pregnancy, and we want to take the stance that a baby must be given rights from the moment of conception, the only conclusion we must take is that all sexually active women must assume that, at any given time, they may be pregnant. It's the only way to make sure that baby's rights are not infringed upon.

Therefore, we must take some drastic measures immediately:
1) All women must wear thick, heavy clothes that cover their entire bodies, to be safe. A burka would work. Exceptions may clearly be made when the woman is indoors.
2) Women must keep their bodies pristine at all times, removing anything that may harm a baby. So, no alcohol, smoking, caffeine, etc. Never. Many countries currently have such laws/rules.
3) Stress can be bad for the baby as well, so clearly a woman having a job is just impossible. Driving is stressful, so that is forbidden as well. Many countries are currently doing this as well.

So, if you really feel that a baby has rights from the moment of conception, it would behoove you to go to a country ruled by Sharia Law, as it would suit you famously.

Here's the text of the legislation in question on Thomas.

Based on a cursory reading of it, I think, if enacted, the whole thing can be bypassed by having the woman sign a waiver at the beginning stating that the abortion sought was not on the basis of race or gender, nor was there any force used to coerce the woman into the abortion.

So, not only is this a useless legislation, it's also a toothless one.

It's about time that that the race of the fetus was no longer a reason to abort a child. Are we all not equal? If it's really that much of a problem to the individual parents, then they should just try harder to make white children.

NewportBarGuy: Seldom is the question asked; "How many children go unadopted in America every year?"

It's funny, American children go unadopted every year and wind up drifting through being wards of the state to foster care and grow up to be, oftentimes, extremely dysfunctional people. Meanwhile, Americans seem to love to adopt from places like Korea, China, Russia, India, etc.

But hey, as long as we can still abort a gay fetus, a Muslim fetus or one conceived by two liberals, you're cool with that, right GOP?

/That sound you are hearing, it's just Susan B. Anthony and Frederick Douglass rolling in their graves.

As it is, they come off as hypocritical elitists...

If I were wealthy, the Bill Gates/Warren Buffett kind of wealthy, I would set up a foundation to fund abortion and birth control for everyone who wanted it. If someone need to fly to another state to get an abortion, I'd pick up the tab. If your insurance plan doesn't cover IUDs, I'd pay for it.

Then all our pathetic politicians could, maybe, get back to their jobs.

2011-12-06 07:37:37 AM
And the projected number of jobs created from this legislation is?

2011-12-06 07:39:06 AM
Republicans think race is a political gimmick that they can get a piece of, like "family values" or "tough on crime".

Every time they do something like this they expose their cynicism about it. They don't care about anyone's fetus, they're just trying their hand at race politics. It's not really working out for them, but if nothing else they can point to this as "outreach" the next time one of them says something racist.

Black girls don't need to go to college like white girls. White girls can have their kids after college...or after they meet a college guy that has a good future ahead of him.

RedPhoenix122 - The sad part is, he believes his email forwards are something like "Radio Free America" amid the gulag like existence the Democrats have created.

On many levels he isn't a bad guy. He doesn't write these. I don't think he's trolling at all. He genuinely believes this shiat.

It hasn't happened yet, but I'm safely sure FoxNews, NewsMax and even sketchier websites will be soiling another McRat family Christmas dinner by proxy.
