the Coen Brothers' underrated "Burn After Reading"

It wasn't underrated, it just sucked. Also, it was not "otherwise serious".

Pulp Fiction was a great movie, but not "otherwise serious".

Nor was Deep Blue Sea. They had one entire character for comic relief off on his own for most of the movie.

Nor was RoboCop. There was plenty of satire.

Nor was Raiders of the Lost Ark. Too many examples to list.

Who is the goddamn idiot who named this list with all of these not-otherwise-serious movies on it?!

The divorce trial scene in "Intolerable Cruelty" had me laughing so hard I couldn't breathe. That movie is not "otherwise serious" at all.

It was a very dark comedy with very dry humor; methinks you'd have to be in the mood for nuance and inference to enjoy it.

High points include: some very good comedic characters for the actors (Clooney's a sleazeball, Pitt's a doofus, Malkovich is a pompous ass), the most tension-filled spy soundtrack ever composed, several unexpected occurences, and a hilarious coda scene with David Rasche and JK Simmons trying to figure out just what the hell happened in the movie.

Personally, I like it.

IIRC, the Indiana Jones scene was supposed to be a long drawn out fight but Harrison Ford was sick for weeks and this is what they came up with.

Pulp Fiction was a serious movie? Maybe Jules' little "awaking" at the end but it was otherwise pretty much a comedy. I mean I wouldn't put it in the comedy section of a video store (what's that?) but I wouldn't call it serious either.

The funniest part of that scene was Travolta's reaction, "Man, I shot Marvin in the face" like, "Man, I stepped in gum".
