ESPN pays through the roof for MNF because it allows them to charge a lot for ads and charge a lot for the rights to carry the channel. Dual revenue streams and all.

I've trying to think of a possible NFL matchup I would care about less than this game. I'm coming up pretty blank. How many other games are

i) between two terrible teams
ii) aren't in the same division
iii) neither team has a remotely exciting player
iv) neither team has a player so bad its amusing to watch
v) neither team is bad enough to at least actively root for them to lose

Seriously, what could possibly be a worse matchup? Jax-Cle maybe?

Also because when they signed the current deal, the NFL was butthurt about Playmakers and basically extorted a billion dollars from ESPN under the threat that "It'd be a damn shame if we didn't give you any rights to air NFL footage, wouldn't it?"
