Much like the ongoing adventures of Tim Tebow, I have to support the idea if only for the sheer hilarity factor that would result from a Favre-led Bears team being the first to beat the Pack.

This is the first thing I thought when Cutler went down... Oh, jeez, they're lining up on Favre's driveway now.

I'd enjoy watching Rodgers beat Favre again on his way to eclipsing Favre's number of titles with the Packers, officially relegating Favre to 3rd best Packers QB in the SB era.

Such bad news for the Bears...losing Cutler that is. He was playing really good football when he got hurt.

but a source familiar with the quarterback said Favre would listen if the Bears made a pitch.

So would I. In a heartbeat. If they call me, I'm totally quitting my job and going over to play quarterback for the Bears. For the league minimum.

It would create the slim possibility of a Favre/Tebow superbowl. The gunslinger vs. jesus. Who wins?

Favre hurls a bomb from midfield, Bennett pulls it in, Favre runs around with his right index finger in the air and the childlike grin on his face, ON Christmas Day, AT Lambeau Field...

Rodgers is more of a "season-ending sack/fumble" kind of guy.

If he's kept in shape, I'm fairly certain Favre could still play at least a short series of games. However, the way he was knocked out of the season last year I think really took alot of that swagger away. I would love to see it happen though. Tebow-mania just isn't as fun for me as the days of FAVRE FAVRE FAVRE FAVRE FAVRE....

That said, this is only the second funniest thing of the day. #1 was Simmons and Cousin Sal suggesting Sean Payton is the NFL's answer to Cowboy Bob Orton with the crutches. "He's totally healed! He's gonna whack someone with the crutch, watch out!"

More of a season-ending Super Bowl victory kinda guy.

/gotta go with what happens most often - if equal, then the most recent counts
//Favre closed his career with the Falcons, Packers, and Jets with INTs
///then he came back for an awful year with the Vikings just so he wouldn't end his career with them with another INT

"Get Brett Farve!" and a few "Get Brent Farve!"

Could Tebow himself create a Tebow so Tebow not even Tebow could Tebow it?

What's lost in this is what if Chicago can inch its way to the playoffs and Cutler returns early. Wouldn't it be perfect if after all the flak he took from outside sources (not his team) about being soft lead to him being revered as the tough guy of Chicago who came back to guide them. That'd be a quick goat to hero turnaround.

Damn if I wasn't impressed with TJ Yates. He had some great passes (including one that was dropped by Johnson...WTH Andre? That was perfect!) and really seemed to keep his composure. He almost had that game-tying interception, until ATL screwed themselves out of another defensive touchdown (thanks Falcons!). He ain't the best, but by god I'll put my faith in Yates.

fark favre and fark the bears. IDK who id like to see take it in the ass harder.. he is with the pack forever on a 'lifetime contract', superbowls, all that shiat... Then he farks his MY mistress, retires and comes back 23 times, 'feels more at home' in minn. Now the BEARS??? cmon....... dickhead.. I felt like he left our perfect family for a fat ugly trailer biatch on the other side of the tracks. And I'm not alone, if he ever gets so much as a speeding ticket around here they'll prolly take him to jail on the spot.

Yeah. Just when he'd finally figured out what color uniforms his own team wore, without having to look down at his own jersey before attempting a pass throwing an interception.

I'm just saying, I'd be all over it, and yet I don't see ESPN writing about how I might be open to talking to them. But there's just as much chance that they'd call me as there is that they would call Favre.

And I'm almost a full year younger than Favre, so hey, youth movement!

"Officially," right after Rogers wins 3 MVPs, starts 11 pro bowls, starts 297 straight games, and throws for over 71,000 yards (only one other guy has 60,000) and 500 TD's (only one other guy has 400), you mean?

Farve has been a prima donna and a general, all-around fark about his multiple retirements, but Rogers has a long way to go to come anywhere near his legacy.

1 SB title.

If Rodgers wins the SB, as he does in the scenario I laid out, then he goes above Favre in Packers history.

Starr has two as well. Favre has one.

/keep thinking longevity counts as greatness, though

2011-12-05 07:26:49 PM
And Rodgers might have more difficulty getting to Pro Bowls since he doesn't seem like the kind of QB to go out and sh*t the bed regularly in the playoffs to ensure his team doesn't make it to the Super Bowl.

2011-12-05 07:28:32 PM
Of course, this story is Favre's fault and everyone should hate him more for it. It's not the media desperately trying to find a story to get page clicks and viewers, nooooo.

just like that last two times he 'unretired'.
