It's hard to a get a decent Yurt in Manhattan, there are tons of Chinese knock-offs where the hide stitched come undone the first time you put your yurt up at Zuccotti. Sure, there are couple of places in Brooklyn, but who wants to go all the way the Boroughs for your Oxhide needs?

I'm all in favor of a NY-centric media but "new building owner finds tenant" is really stretching it.

God Is My Co-Pirate: Who says hipsters are good for nothing?

Me but I stopped saying it a couple of years ago when it became too popular a thing to say.

I like the old school phone number on the building. A few years ago they tore down a building here and on the wall next to it was the old advertising and phone nuber like that for the painting supply store that was there decades ago the number was like that.

I wouldn't say that they are good for nothing... The hipsters here made farmers markets popular, which means that I can buy really good food (especially cheese) at reasonable prices in the spring, summer, and fall. The local grocery stores stock some really good food (like this awesome Irish cheddar) to cater to them, too. They also do a lot of local shopping, which helps my city.

Aside from the economic and culinary benefits, they are good for nothing, though.

1) It's some guy's blog
2) focused on "a bitterly nostalgic look at a city in the process of going extinct"

Smeggy Smurf: Second life? Farking furries

The flying penii and screaming Spongebob cubes always freaked me out a little.

That blog made me sad, now that I know that so many parts of my childhood in NYC are gone forever.
