We would never throw batteries at an injured player. That's a waste of a perfectly good battery.

I despise the Pats, their coach, most of their players now or before. But I do recognize their fan base and their owner to be some of the classiest around.

Good on them.

Almost 40 years ago, the crowd at Schaefer was so out of hand for a Monday Night Football game (one fan unrinated on a EMT helping someone who had a heart attack), the NFL "banned" the Pats from hosting one for years.

So, yeah, stay classy.

The Pats D missed him so much, they gave up 350 yards and two touchdowns to Dan Orlovsky just for old times' sake.

There's no greater crime than for a player to accept more money to play for a rival of a New England team.

I was at the game yesterday.

Vinateri booing was few and far between. Seemed like friendly jeering more than anything. I have heard the Pats crowd is pretty weak but I thought they were loud considering the opponent and the way the game went.

/first time at Gillette
//People were constantly looking up into Kraft's box which I thought was weird.

Thanks Pats. As far as professional rivalries, this is one of the coolest. Even when our punter gets the start, it's enjoyable.

At Sox/Celtics/Bruins games more so. Gillette is still more or less a place for the hardcore, as are most cold weather outdoor stadiums once the weather turns.

He is one of the most overrated QBs in the history of the league. He's a regular season statistical juggernaut, but come playoffs, he chokes.

2001, Colts lose to dolphins 23-17 for wildcard spot
2002 - Colts lose to the jets 41-0 in the playoffs
2004, Colts lose 24-14 to the patriots in the playoffs
2005, Colts lose to pats 20-3 in the playoffs
2006 Colts lose to Steelers 21-18 in the playoffs
2007 - Colts finally show up and win Super Bowl
2008 - Colts lose at HOME to the 8-8 Chargers at home in the playoffs
2009 - Colts lose to the Saints by throwing a pick-6 in the Super bowl.

Arguably the greatest to ever play the game.

Hmmmmm, I don't know about that.

Can't speak for Celtics or Sox games, but I've never been chastised for swearing at a Bruins' game like I have been at Gillette on a number of occasions.

The balcony seats in the Garden during Bruins' games are far more rowdy and boozey than anything I've ever seen at a Patriots' game.

Patriots fans by and large respect Peyton Manning, they admire his skill and value the rivalry.

Winning a few championships has transformed the region. I can say there are a few douchebags out there, but most Patriots fans are pretty classy. They treat opponents pretty well. It is when an opposing player starts to talk a buncha crap that the Patriots fans get riled up. Like Ladanian Tomlinson running his mouth in San Diego, or I think when was it Sugg in Baltimore started talking smack...

But when the Jets do it, it becomes a part of the fun. Pats fans probably hate Mangini the most.

I listened to Manning's interview yesterday and I thought Peyton came across very classy. I wish him a speedy recovery, but I think he should retire from playing football. He has those little kids to raise and really one big hit and this guy could be paralyzed or killed. It is a serious neck injury. Football is a dangerous enough sport.

As a Masshole that lives up in the Merrimack Valley, I can advise that my experience is the total opposite - Manning is 'hated' when he's playing well and playing the Pats, but the general consensus at the bars that I watch the games at is that he's too good to really hate. The true hatred is saved for the Rex Ryans, Brett Favres, Terrell Suggs' of the league.

/agrees about the mouth-breathers that call into sports radio, though. Their idiocy actually makes me like the local teams less.

I hate when the Pats PLAY Peyton Manning.

I actually like the guy.

He spent more than an hour doing a circuit of Gillette before the game signing autographs and talking to the fans.

I think he's a class act. What he said about retiring and taking the Ol' Miss job is one of the funniest lines I've heard come out of an athlete's mouth.

Don't want to PLAY against him, but I like him.

I'll like him when his career is over. I am incapable of liking a player that's on a rival team while they're still active.

I like the rivalry. I used to HATEthe Jets. Now i do not hate them at all. They man up and play the Pats tough. Rex Ryan for all his bravado and chatter usually backs it up, and he seems to be good humored. Hard to hat eon someone who is good-humored. Peyton manning is good humored. I hate the fact that manning can kick our ass regularly. But he has my respect on the field.

Drew Brees, Aaron Rogers, I respect those guys. Ben Roethlisberger? I hate his guts.
