Whatever that might be.

Waterboarding? Wimp. Obama just has them snipered.
Quick, easy, no trials and a Nobel Peace Prize to boot.

2011-12-04 11:51:30 PM
I would favor the arrest of Dick Cheney myself, but I'll take this.

2011-12-04 11:52:22 PM
Yeah, run with that. Good luck.

Good luck getting anywhere near him to make that arrest.

A million civilians have died in Iraq. Without question he should be put on trial.

2011-12-05 12:16:33 AM
String him up and record it on a cellphone.

2011-12-05 12:47:34 AM
Throw him into the middle of Baghdad. Let the Iraqis thank him for liberating them.

I am sure that everyone here who agrees that Bush should be arrested for these crimes will also agree that Obama should be arrested as well, as Gitmo is still opened, so are other rendition centers, the practices in those haven't changed since he took office, the increased drone strikes in MULTIPLE countries (most of them we are not at war with, such as Yemen) have killed hundreds of civilians since Obama took office, there are still troops in Afghanistan and in Iraq, it's now 3 years after he took office and there is no way this can be chalked as 'Well, you know, he needs some time to get everything in gear' but this is clearly a continuation (and in many cases) an escalation of the same policies Bush started while he was in office. Oh, and also now strikes to kill American citizens declared enemies of the state, and the last bill that passed.

So yes, indeed, both should be arrested right? (no, they shouldn't be)

Which would be true, if the word "snipered" had no specific definition.

Tatsuma: I am sure that everyone here who agrees that Bush should be arrested for these crimes will also agree that Obama should be arrested as well

That's the problem with ideology. One can be so certain, and yet so very wrong.

Remember all those threads in the Bushy 00's where people on this site said "You know, Bush and Cheney are probably gonna get indicted for war crimes"? And the water carriers all said "DERP DERP, get a brain libtards! Hello! AMERICA!"? Ah, ha ha.

I believe the correct term is "sniped".

No, intelligent conservatives just said that Republicans should be immune from such charges, since they use war crimes in a manner that promote the general welfare. Democrats use war crimes to raise taxes. Oh wait, war crimes and taxes are one and the same. Stupid libs. Get owned.

Okay. Issue warrants on both of them.

I'll wait here.

Mr. Bush is visiting Ethiopia, Tanzania and Zambia this week to raise awareness about cervical and breast cancer and HIV/AIDS.

WAIT? WHAT THE FARK?????

AIDS?
wasnt his solution to aids in africa was to ban funding for condoms??

/my god they should keep him in africa

2011-12-05 02:40:33 AM
New York Rep. Peter King called Amnesty's action misguided.

""If Amnesty International had any intellectual honesty, it would give President Bush a medal to honor him for liberating so many oppressed Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan..."

I...

I just....

*Sigh*

Bush controls the Vatican, too?

I wish people who want to bash him (and there are many many reasons to) would at least somewhat educate themselves before just ranting about everything he did.

Bush's Africa policy is not only his best achievement, but he did more for Africa as a President than any other President in modern recent history, including Obama. There's a reason why it's probably the only place in the world where people have a pretty good opinion of the guy.

In fact his Africa policy and the work he has been doing for Africa is probably the ONLY thing where no one can bash him.

Seriously, people.

Bush doesn't get the credit he deserves for the HIV money he put into Africa. We paid for a ton of HIV drugs and awareness training in Africa under Bush (and that funding has decreased under Obama, as far as I know). It actually was very fruitful. Hate him for the plethora of other reasons, the Bush administration gets a win there.

Why yes cutting aid to ONE organization because 'it condones forced abortions in China' is the same as saying 'no condoms to africans' good job you really are making this thread better by participating thank you

I would absolutely love to see Bush get arrested. But let's be fair, they also need to get Clinton, Carter, Dick Cheney, and Henry Kissinger. These people should be in jail for war crimes.

And Obama, once he is no longer serving as Head of State.

Amnesty International joins Switzerland in calling for the arrest of George W. Bush for war crimes.

So... are they going to change their name to just "International" now? Because I'm pretty sure "amnesty" is right off the agenda.

Tatsuma: So yes, indeed, both should be arrested right?

Yup, go for it. Lets grab most of the ruling party in Israel while we're at it. There can be a full inquiry into their actions in a court of law. After all, if they have nothing to hide, why should they be afraid of vindicating themselves in trial?

Really?

scratches head and ponders for a moment. Who the fark gives a fark about Africa?

Okay, we did that whole blackhawk down thing. That wasn't good. Somalians keep piracy going. Somewhere else they're killing each other because they're from the wrong tribe.

HIV seems to be their biggest export. Fark 'em....or maybe not - you should wear a condom at least.

They've had a long history of calling for the arrest of war criminals.

I've been calling for that for about 7 years now.. what kept you guys?

I disliked Bush and Cheney..but to arrest them is stupid.

2011-12-05 04:04:22 AM
Group of liberal morons join with other group of liberal morons to run their mouths about a lot of nothing us usual?

As stated if there was anything to this other than a bunch of self righteous indignation by a bunch of radical nuts then you wouldn't be able to turn on any news station without hearing about it 24/7/365. As it stands this is just people of a particular mind set throwing a politically motivated temper tantrum.

Why? Under what pretense do you not arrest people who commit the very worst crimes? Just because they are wealthy?

So, this "war" and torture was started what, in 2003? If so, then do we arrest anyone in congress who voted for the military action and everyone who voted to reelect GW Bush? Where do we draw the line? Congress gave him the authorization and continued to authorize the funding. Do we arrest all of them too?

2011-12-05 04:10:40 AM
Just because you voted for a war criminal and belonged to his political party, doesn't make him any less of a war criminal.

Just because you might view this as an assault on your personal politics, or on the integrity of our country doesn't change the facts or the situation.

Our country sustained much more damage to it's integrity by the secret prisons and torture and other war crimes being exposed than any trial and punishment of a former President could ever do.

We signed the Geneva Conventions,
our constitution holds us to our international treaties.
We executed Japanese for water-boarding Americans.

In THIS country, we believe in justice and rule of law.

He should have a trial and face the consequences of his actions. If he's innocent or was justified, a court will decide.

Congress voted on an Authorization to use Force. This was advertised as something to show Saddam that we're serious, and we wouldn't use it unless we really, really had to. Congress should have thought it over first, but it had nothing to do with torture, or long term occupations. And nothing Congress can do can authorize torture. Nor Bush's illegal warrantless wiretapping of nearly everyone.

You see normally you would be correct, but he U.S. actually has a long standing policy of the people that make the rules are legally allowed to break the rules. It applies at all levels.

Well if Bush is arrested then we have to arrest the whole world including fartbongo because that would cheese off the liberals.

From what Bush officials said in the past, they should be totally OK with this.

This "they should arrest him" crap is like the least a group can do and still have someone report on it. It's like people that slap "Free Tibet" stickers on their cars. It does nothing. It's to make them feel better about themselves and nothing else.

Sitting in Europe, writing a heated email about Bush, while calling on someone in Africa to arrest Bush is actually less than adding a bumper sticker to your crappy Volvo wagon. Let these big talkers come and do the arrest themselves. Then they have a little skin in the game and we'll see how it plays out. I would then look forward to Darwin taking care of the rest.
