What's up with these stories about bath salts lately? I'm assuming you snort them. What is that stuff?
Why are they taking their kids out in the middle of the night?

They are usually chemicals simalar to amphetamines and either ingested or snorted. There are hundreds of "chemical supply" or research suppliers on the net that sell 100's of chemicals that have known psychoactive effects, but little else is known.

From what I know they're research chemicals essentially.

They're taking their children out in the middle of night the same reason I've seen seven year olds playing outside at 12:00 am in a really sketchy rural area or small children wandering around after dark where I live now.The parents are too high to care or they just don't care at all.

From what I've read, "bath salts" are a chemical called mephedrone, a synthetic compound related to amphetamines and cathinone. Nobody really knows what kind of long-term damage people are doing to themselves when they take it.

Well, in their defense, it helps to be on some form of narcotic when you go to Wal-Mart. It helps soften the blow when you accidentally walk into the employee break room. (^)

Uncool story, bro:

A few years ago, on Christmas Eve, I got a telephone call that my mother and grandmother had been in an automobile accident and my grandmother's back had been broken. Apparently my mother, who was uninjured, had driven off the road. She had a longstanding problem with vicodin/lortab, and we'd tried intervention before. We went through her house and found five different prescriptions, all current, filled at 5 different pharmacies, from 4 different doctors. My mother had apparently tabbed out and passed out. She should have been given a DWI, but they don't have breathalyzers for narcotics.

"Right now it's 1:30 a.m. 11 Percocets just entered me.
15 min from this second I'll be crawlin on my knees
Laughin at the crowd of the clowns that be surroundin me"

"Oxycontin, Xanax bars, Percocets, and Lortabs
Valiums, Morhpine patches, Ecstasy, and it's all up for grabs
Whatcha want whatcha need-hit me up i got u man"

I've tried some of those and all I have got to say is fark that! I do have the ability to get prescribed these kinds of medications but with what I've experienced I don't think it'd ever be safe for me to take them. Tried a xanny bar one night, blacked out and apparently I fell down while going either up or down the steps to my house. ( I woke up at the bottom of the steps covered in scrapes and bruises ). Seroquel, I was asleep and then started to mumble to a friend before trying to crawl to the front. He work up later that night to find that I was sleeping half way out the door. So I'm under the impression that I WILL try to leave the house with pills like these.

I really hope you are joking or you're a troll. Seriously this is nasty stuff, you don't want to mess with. Go smoke a bowl man, nobody really minds a stoner with the munchies, but absolutely nobody likes someone tweaked out on meth wannabe bath salts. I've seen some news stories of people going absolutely nuts on this stuff.

Also, in reference to mephedrone, that was one of the substances being sold as bath salts and at least in Florida is now banned, they still sell bath salts. They just switch to another substance when one gets banned (same thing with Spice etc). So you really have no idea unless you are a chemist as to what the hell you are ingesting.

2011-12-05 08:20:32 AM
Also just for everybody's general information they also sell this crap as "Concentrated Plant Food". Basically if you see any white to yellow powered substance in small jars being sold for 10-30/ gram at convince stores, gas stations etc. Yea they are selling legal speed. It's really farked up.

If you find your kids with this stuff, do whatever you have to, to keep them away from it. You really do not want to mess with it.

/thinks Spice etc shouldn't be banned, but we should find out more about it.
//thinks Cannabis prohibition is absolutely ridiculous

Neil Brown frowns on your question. Which is tricky, with the scars. (new window)

Brown was high on bath salts when he used his skinning knife to repeatedly slice his face and stomach. Brown said, "I couldn't tell you why I did it. The psychological effects are still there."

It's interesting how they will try to find ways to put it out in the market when it's banned. Seedy gas stations usually have Valentine's Day Flowers for sale. A little flower inside glass a glass tube might make a nice gift if you are cheap but in reality they are used to smoke meth.

A comment FTA: The lortab is another matter entirely. But good luck getting them to rat out the person who sold it to them. Although maybe they ought to start putting some type of identifier inside of the tablets that the police could trace back to the source. Sort of like a lot number identifier made out of some inert material that is in the middle of the tablet. Just make it microscopic or put an ultraviolet label somewhere on the pills that would identify the lot and pill#. The pharmacists would have to be responsible for logging the numbers into the system for each person they subscribe the pills to so they can be tracked back to the original buyer. A microscopic RFID tag would be even better.
Would add cost of course, but maybe it would discourage them from using the stuff in the first place if they knew they could be tracked.

Hi guys, just a little background on these 'bath salts'. Creating synthetic drugs is now a big business, legal highs that are synthetically similar to illegal drugs but different just enough to keep them from being outawed. In order to keep under the radar as long as possible, manufacturers incorporate the drugs into seemingly innocuous products like bath salts or plant food. They are probably the worst quality salts/plant foods on the market, but of course that's not their intended use.

Mephedrone, the primary active ingredient in bath salts, is just seriously jacked up stuff and not even hardcore drug users will mess with it (in general). This is what happens when make every drug completely illegal, people who don't have access to or can't afford illegal drugs will do this, primarily kids/teens.

Agreed. The only reason people resort to the synthetic marijuana products is because they were legal. The K-2s apparently smell worse, don't give you as good of a high, and can be more harmful to your body - because they just spray the synthetic stuff on a variety of plant products. And your friendly local TV station will likely milk about 12 good "Your kids are killing themselves" stories out of this before the substances are banned.

All because we're a bunch of farking puritans.

The synthetic stuff isn't even that safe.

My sister tried some synthetic weed and ended up in the hospital with a panic attack.

She didn't have a problem with the real stuff that she may or may not have smoked.

Disclaimer: I don't support the abuse of drugs but those who want to experiment with them are going to do so even if you tell them not to do it. So I guess all that can be said is warning them of things to watch out for.

I guess in the end it all depends on what you are trying to get out of any legal/illegal drug.

If you want to feel like you are weightless, start robotrippin although your eyes will still be dilated a day later. Do not do it alone (especially if you have never done it before) or you will likely be lost until it wears down (hours later). I was lost in the woods even though we were 4 feet away from the entrance to the woods. Spacial awareness is shot and so is your logical thought process.

So you claim to be an artist but your creativity sucks so you resort to drugs to enhance your creativeness, I'd say stick with salvia. It will hit you fast and wears off in less than a minute but the things you witness are quite odd. Don't know of any adverse effects with it

Though I've never done shrooms I've been told to only be in a place you are very comfortable with and around only people that you trust completely otherwise you are going to see very scary things that will likely torment you for the rest of your life. I know someone that is plagued by the things he saw but he's stuck with it now.

Having high blood pressure or a rapid heart rate + Ecstasy = BAD. One of my friends had a heart attack with this combination. He was only 22 and the medics revived him but it scared the shiat out of him, to the point where he never wanted to go near it or any drug for that matter again.

Understated wiki article aside, here's what I've seen it do to an admitted user: weight loss, general hyperactivity, fast, nervous speech, physical and verbal aggression, paranoia. I thought the guy was a meth user.
