TFA missed an important point: the researchers at Cornell were not just randomly, creepily obsessed with Mira Sorvino. One of them taught my sophomore orgo lecture. They named it in her honor because she spent a couple of weeks in Baker Hall researching what the life of a chemist was like to prepare for that role. These guys hung out with her for like eight days.
