He'll never be a dink-and-dunk West Coast style quarterback, but he can heave that thing downfield pretty well.

He completed 3 more passes than he attempted? TRULY HE IS GOD.

I was on the "Tebow can't throw" bandwagon, but he really seems to be improving. I've said all along that I've got nothing against the guy but I don't see it happening for him as an NFL QB. But he's starting to show signs that I might have been wrong.

Side note that will be lost in this: Nice game for Ponder. Yeah he threw big pick, but that'll happen with most rookie QB's. The guy's got potential.

Why? Is 'more than' only for measurements and 'over' for spacial presence or something (ie 'hand over fist')? Honest linguistic question, like further vs. farther.

jaylectricity: It's the only game on the Patriots schedule I worry about.

If the Tebows beat the Patriots, I'll be forced to jump on the Tebow bandwagon, and I really don't want to do that. I've given up keeping them out of the playoffs when I try to figure out the scenarios. At this point, it's easier to keep the Raiders down, and that gets my Titans in.

The bad news with that is Week 17 and the WC might be the same game - Tennessee vs. Houston.

God forbid I question it for fear of being labeled a Christian hater, but the stats expectations sure are getting lowered.

I mean, just stick with "he's winning" at all costs and ignore the rest.

I don't know of many times people are trumpeting 10-15 for 200 yards or whatever it was.

Last time I checked, "winning" was the only thing that would get you in the playoffs.

He averaged 20 yards a pass and now has them on top of the afc west

Plus, the broncos own the tie breakers against the raiders and beagles

Oh, did I mention he is 6-1 as a starter and espn still power ranks the teams he beats ahead of the broncos?

2011-12-05 12:41:10 AM
When you complete 10 passes for 200 yards your guys are crushing the yards after stat. Tebow wasn't throwing the ball 20 yards each time.

That said, if it's working for them don't screw with it. I'd love to see how far they can take it.

I'm not arguing that. Like I said, I would just assume people stick with "he's winning".

Talking about throwing for 200 yards in a "shoot out" against a 2-10 team though?

I would stay as far away from stats arguments as humanly possible.

Pretty much agree here. I love that the Broncos are winning and he's showing some improvement. Time will tell. I just hope he doesn't fizzle like Michael Vick or Vince Young after some early successes.

Can we point out that the Jets were really the only win of substance? Maybe you could call the Oakland win a good un, but I personally think the AFC west is just a bunch of infighting of suck. He keeps winning and loves Jesus. Terrific. The Packers have all but locked up a perfect season and get 1/20 the attention as this Passing Prosyletizer. How do the Broncos fans not see what's gonna happen? They're gonna luck into the playoffs and get trounced in the first round by a good team who has a couple weeks to prepare for the Broncs silly little offense. I splurged on a pint of Johnny Walker Blue label tonight so I thank all you lovely farkers for putting up with my rant. Go Fins!

He's showing some improvement in accuracy from the pocket, but it still seems like he makes better throws from the roll-out or on the run. It's almost like he's still thinking about his mechanics in the pocket and not just playing the game.

In other news, Alex Smith is 10-2 as a starter this year, has clinched his division, and will almost certainly get a bye in the playoffs. And is a better QB than Tebow. And no one credits him for his team's success.

Aww you're right. A team that, up until now, had won 10 games over 3 years (post the 6-0 start) should just pack up now so they don't get embarrassed in the playoffs.

Wait, fark that. The Broncos haven't been in the playoffs since 2005. I think they will manage to handle the disappoint.

And if you give them the Raiders than why not the Fins who just undressed the Raiders as well?

eh, same rule applies to everybody right now, especially with spread offenses and "yards after catch" being the big thing in the nfl right now (Tom Brady's current success rides on it)

with one exception of course: other teams do it to exploit other teams weaknesses, Denver does it to mask weaknesses... but to be fair again, it's never been about having no weaknesses - just making fewer mistakes than the other guys

2011-12-05 01:09:29 AM
Alex smith's team didn't start the season 1-4 with an inferior quarterback and then trade their top receiver away...

Tebow should get about 25% of the credit, His offensive line should get 25% and the defense 50%

Btw, if Denver makes the playoffs and actually wins a game look for john elway to rinse his mouth out with buckshot to end it all

I've been a Dolphins fan since I was 4. I'm angry and disappointed with em for not turning it on earlier this season so i refuse to give them any propers. No way they compete with the Pats; but we could be fighting the Jets for second. I agree with you completely; hell I even enjoy watching the fella play. I guess the point I was trying to make in the above post was the often made fark post hating on the media coverage of this very average team/player while teams like the texans and 49ers are having their best seasons ever/in decades. Enjoy your playoff run though. Maybe y'all will pull a seahawks.

And no I didn't give John fox any credit.

Elway brought his 2-14 stink into Denver so they could flop and draft luck. Elway was even talking to luck before te season started!

Btw, I know this doesn't belong here, but at least fox doesn't try to ice his own kicker like Dallas did today. How Jerry jones stopped himself from firing garret on the spot is beyond me.

Dude, I dont want to say this, but at this point, the only reason you WOULD question it is if you are hating on him for SOME reason.

Depending on what GB did today, he might have the lowest turnover/touch ratio of any QB in the leauge. He wins. 10-15 for 200 and 2TDs works out to a QB rating of 149.something.

so, yeah, it does get trumpeted. But feel free to hold on to that hate and jealousy for another few weeks, they might lose a game or two and you will get to feel supieror for doubting the perfection that no one ever said was there.

Alex Smith was a number one over all, "cant miss" NFL prospect. Tim Tebow was slapped with at "Cant play NFL QB" label.

Its not as good of a story.

/plus, no one hates Alex Smith for no reason. Its not as much fun to watch him succeed to piss those people off.

I sound fat: He wins.

He does. Somehow. Not really any other statistic out there that's meaningful. It would be hilarious after all the crap he takes to see him take them to the Superb Owl. I'm not a Broncos fan nor do I particularly dislike them, but I do love a good "lol but y u mad tho" moment, and Tebow delivers those.

LOL. Tebow got to avoid 4 of the 5 toughest games the Broncos have faced. And the 5th is the one he lost. The healthy Raiders, the Packers, the Titans, and the Bengals(which was a win) are all better than any team Tebow have faced except maybe the Lions. If Tebow play all 12 games, they probably have one more loss, not more wins.

The weapons grade butthurt that would result on Fark after a Tebow Super Bowl win would be possibly the greatest thing ever seen.

As a Broncos fan, I can't say I would've been disappointed had elway's alleged plan worked out. What is interesting, though, is Harbaugh's success with the Niners bs. Luck's moderated success without Harbaugh. It makes me wonder if Luck benefitted from Harbaugh more than the other way around, which was how I saw it before.

I watched the game for a bit. Fewer of Teebus' passes looked like shiat. 200 yards isn't a monster game for a QB, but it's acceptable. He got his completion percentage into reasonable territory, and the INTs stayed down. That said, Minnesota's secondary may be the worst I've seen this year. There are likely to be college teams with better players, and better coached. I'll wait until next week's result before I get sold.

2011-12-05 02:15:29 AM
This was an improvement for Tebow, but it was necessary to do well in this game. The Vikings have 2 wins. The real tests are yet to come. A real defense(Chicago) and a relentless offense(NE) are up in the next few weeks. Seeing as there are no real quality wins on the Broncos slate so far this entire year and they've shiat the bed against playoff teams under Neckbeard and St Teebus, they have to win to show they're not the awful fluke that the Chefs of last year were
