(Some Guy) Asinine Mother says 9-year-old suspended for saying his teacher was cute. 9-year-old agrees that's what happened. There's no other confirmation so maybe it's not quite this simple. Still, don't we all want to believe this is true?   (gastongazette.com) divider line 122

Can't be said enough. We live in a technicolor world and people in administrations are determined to turn it back to black and white.

9 year old gets punished for calling teacher "cute."

Mother doesn't get punished for calling kid "Emanyea."

There is no justice in this world.

Hell, every teenage girl I went to high school with (myself included) would've been suspended for lusting after one of the English teachers. Holy hell, he was HOT.

Seen nearby, arguing about salvage bounties since neither of their boats alone could pull it and they'd have to team up. Oh, the hilarity and quality family viewing that ensued.

"You know Relic, if we put out boats together, we could get that log."
"Yeah ... what's in it for me? I won't go lower than 70/30!"

Maybe so but considering the intelligence of the average American, do you really want them making decisions on their own?

Boy arrested, handcuffed for burping in class (new window)

I repeat: a THIRTEEN-YEAR-OLD ARRESTED for BURPING.

One day students will be expelled for showing up to class. As a preventive measure.

How can it be a sexual harrassment issue when the person accused isn't even sexually mature?

Sigh....

You're right! He's too young to consent. I blame the teacher. She needs to be put on a sex offender list for this kind of behaviour.

Only if they're white, male and moderately comfortable. The rich and the poor - of any color - get to stay.

The last time a 9-year-old told me that he was suspended for calling his teacher "Cute," it turned out that he'd actually said "I love your butt" while grabbing her ass with both hands.

CONJUGATE! COOOOOONJUGAAATE!!!

So, we're moving to a future where all kids will be told on the first day of school in August, "Remember, if you're not answering a question asked to you by your teacher, what you say can and will be used against you and you will be tossed into detention, suspended, arrested and possibly deported. Have a happy school year."

When I was in the seventh grade, my life sciences teacher, Miss Carter was hot. I was caught more than once checking out that ass as I followed behind her in the halls. I fapped until I was dry and chapped when we got into the sexual education section of the life science book just based only on what she explained (not really hot, just the mechanics as she explained it, imagining her doing it, with me, and again, I was 13, early 90s, no porn, I had to take what little I could get). Several classmates of mine also commented on Miss Carter's hotness. Even a female classmate agreed.

But then again, this was a year prior to the first time I heard the phrase 'zero tolerance', and people were able to take a compliment.

When I was in the first grade I punched my teacher. I, in anger, said "I hate you Miss Johnson." and she said "What are you going to do little man, are you going to hit me?" so I did. She sent me to the corner, called her teacher friend in and they laughed at it. That was in March, on the last day of school my mom came to the school to pick me up. She told the teacher about me hitting her in March (I only know this because my mom tells the story), and my mom said "Okay." she asked "Aren't you going to punish him for it?" My mom said "No. If you wanted me to punish him, you should have told me in March. Calling me up that day and telling me would have gotten him punished. You don't get to sit on that until the last day of school, tell me in hopes of me punishing him for the entire summer." Then finished it with "And honestly, how badly did you screw up as a teacher to get a first grader to tell you he hated you and then punch you?" Again, if my mom didn't tell this story about once a year, I wouldn't have known what she told my teacher, just the part about me telling my teacher that I hated her and then punching her. Now, that the same rules we have in place today been in effect back then, I would have been arrested, parents fined, sent of a school for disruptive students and have that event haunt me for as long as the educational system can.

Snowflakes never lie to keep themselves out of trouble, so I can understand why everybody believes the snowflake and snowmom and doesn't think there might possibly be a little more to the story that would actually be inappropriate to broadcast in the news what with the kid being a minor and all. Yep.

The district's Code of Conduct doesn't list "inappropriate behavior," but says "disruption of school" is punishable by five days of out-of-school suspension.

Principal sounds ugly, fat.

ecmoRandomNumbers: Zero tolerance = zero brain.

Yes, which means zero responsibility. Zero Tolerance is a measure that is there to help ensure that the individuals themselves (Teachers, Administration) cannot be sued for their decisions (good or bad). If they follow Zero Tolerance rules and it results in a lawsuit, it is only a law suit against the district.school and not the teacher.principal as they were only "following the rules".

It is sad they we live in a world that requires this, but it is how it is. If we didn't have Zero Tolerance, then Teachers/Principals would be in a damned if the do, damned if they don't situation because of our lawsuit happy culture.

Fine, sue who wrote the rules. They're responsible for the outcomes of implementation.

How about a 6yo kindergartener who is suspected of being hyperactive being expelled for no cause.

True story, my wife and I both confronted the school, and they had no good explanations, so we said ok, let's discuss this with the Superintendent, they said we don't care, then I said, well this sound like a infraction of ADA (Americans with Disabilites Act), they then reply... woopsie, we forgot about the ADHD, see him on Monday.

Moral of the story, Schools are lazy now, they use this Zero Tolerance bs as a exit strategy for moody teachers...

But nothing like a lawsuit or true threat of one to kick them loose!

All we need is more money for these schools and all will be perfect
