Here's the deal with the Giants: Everything short of a loss to a team like the 2011 Colts is always in play. They're always capable of beating just about anyone and losing to just about anyone. I have no confidence that they'll beat the Packers today - the running game has been bad even with Bradshaw, the defense has a ton of holes, and even though Eli's been pretty damn good he can't do it himself - but if they were to pull it off it wouldn't exactly surprise me. It's just how the Giants work.

OK, playoff spots are about to be clinched, both fantasy and in the real world. So get excited, football fans! It's Sunday, SUNDAY, SUNDAY

Watch, now that they are playing a crappy team (Vikings), the Tebows will lose because John the Baptist (Von Miller) is out.

Drew's Fantasy Talents Update:
Last week of the regular season and oddly only the division leaders have clinched a spot in the playoffs.

Rudemix has managed to stay as the number 1 seed right now despite having the least amount of points of any potential playoff team.

Almost Sober is a beast at the current 2 seed and Bloody Clown Shoes took advantage of the weak division to coast to the 4 seed

My team, Clobbering time MUST fight against to hold onto the 3 seed or have to face division rival the Oil Blacks (if a fall to the six seed happens).

Of the unclinched, the Oil Blacks could sit everyone and still make the playoffs on points. Mostly Harmless could sit half the team and still probably get in. Flamewar Veterans and Sam have a win and you are in setup.

Jake Delhomme is on the Texans' roster. This necessitates a Delhomme Imminence Condition (DelCON).

For the uninitiated, here is a handy breakdown:

DelCON 5 - Delhomme is on the team's payroll
DelCON 4 - Delhomme is on the active roster
DelCON 3 - Delhomme is in uniform and on the sidelines
DelCON 2 - Delhomme is taking practice snaps
DelCON 1 - Delhomme is in the game and behind center

Texans fans, be mindful of this alert system and stay tuned to local authorities for instructions in the event of a crisis.

Coming off of a 12-4 week and riding a 1-0 mark already, my week 13 picks follow. As always, winners in bold:

Philadelphia Eagles at Seattle Seahawks:
The Eagles have landed. Hard.

Tennessee Titans at Buffalo Bills:
Buffalo comes in riding a 4-game losing streak and looking at a long-shot to a wildcard. Tennessee sits second in their division knowing that the leaders are one injury away from starting Jake Delhomme. The difference will be desire.

Kansas City Chiefs at Chicago Bears:
Palko at Hanie, but Vince Young's Thursday night effort plus the Chief's statement that Kyle Orton will be available to play take away some of the Delhomme Award luster. In a match-up of teams looking to dominate defensively while controlling the ball on offense, Chicago is better at both.

Atlanta Falcons at Houston Texans:
With injury problems in Chicago and the Lions imploding, Atlanta's playoff hopes are suddenly buoyed. Houston won't be able to win this one with defense and rushing (the Falcons rank 2nd against the run), and the difference will be a couple of T.J. Yates turnovers.

Oakland Raiders at Miami Dolphins:
The Dolphins have embraced playing the spoiler role over the last month, but Carson Palmer has been here before and Miami doesn't have the weapons to take advantage of the Raiders' pitiful defense.

Denver Broncos at Minnesota Vikings:
I haven't bought into the Tim Tebow: Football Messiah hype completely, but up against the 2-9 Vikings I certainly won't pick against Denver.

Indianapolis Colts at New England Patriots:
If there's one game left that the Colts will likely get up for, it's this one against the Patriots. That said, New England is too good not to pull away after a close first half.

Cincinnati Bengals at Pittsburgh Steelers:
The Bengals are a solid team this year & appear headed to bigger things in the near future, but they're not quite up to the same level as the Steelers yet.

Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers:
Lost among the other collapses going on this season are the Bucs, quietly bringing a 5-game losing streak into this game. Cam Newton and the Panthers aren't going to the playoffs, but they are young and hungry enough to want to finish out the season strong.

New York Jets at Washington Redskins:
Bad Grossman will be back in spades this week, as I look for the Jets to run away with this one on the strength of a couple defensive scores. The Redskins are 0-2 and have been outscored 43-9 in their games against the AFC East so far...and that was vs. the Bills and Dolphins.

Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns:
Cleveland is getting a lot of credit for their defense this year, which ranks sixth overall. Unfortunately for them, it also ranks 29th against the run. If Cam Cameron can resist having Joe Flacco air it out excessively, the Ravens should run away with their seventh straight against the Browns.

Dallas Cowboys at Arizona Cardinals:
I'm tempted to go with an upset here, as the Cards have been playing better of late and I wouldn't be surprised to see a return of Bad Romo today, but Dallas should be able to run the ball well enough to win regardless.

Green Bay Packers at New York Giants:
I don't see how anybody, Tom Coughlin included, can pick the Giants here.

St. Louis Rams at San Francisco 49ers:
Only the Colts pitiful season has saved St. Louis from being the hands down worst team in the league this season. The Niners will be out for blood after the Thanksgiving loss, and the Rams are ripe for the slaughter.

Detroit Lions at New Orleans Saints:
The lack of Suh makes this pick even easier, but it was pretty easy either way. The Lions have at least improved to being a team which dominates bad opponents, but the Saints are anything but.

San Diego Chargers at Jacksonville Jaguars:
This is another one where I'm very tempted to go with the young home team in an upset, but San Diego hasn't completely surrendered yet. The Jags defense will keep them in this game (and make for yet another ugly Monday Night contest), but I think the Chargers pull one out and snap their losing skid.

Heyyyy, the Bucs are wearing THOSE helmets again.

Any non-grumpy-Jets fan want to give a person new to all this an honest answer?

Meh. He's the backup. I hope Yates comes out here and surprises us all. It seems that players that come in with a chip on their shoulder do good around here. I'm not holding my breath but he could surprise us all.

Then again, he could suck so hard the fans will be screaming for Delhomme. *sigh*. I wish it was noon already. After watching Houston shiat the bed yesterday, I could use a pickup. If the Texans lose but do it fighting, I'm O.K. with that.
