I'm 6-6 in my fantasy league, and tonight I treated myself to a pizza and a six-pack of beer.

Hey, I'm the owner and I can do whatever I f*cking want. I'm into this league for 6 large. 60 bucks.

Vandy is progressing nicely. They just need to learn that there's a 4th quarter in football and they can be a real problem.

Vandy = Money.

//vandy born and vandy bred and when I die, I'll be vandy dead

I'd love for Vandy to become an actually good team, so...whoo!

Given Vandy's history and the condition the program was in, 6-6 is a hell of a good season. Six wins is the second-most they've had since 1982.

Oh, and good job Maryland, letting Franklin go so you could hire Randy "Everybody hates me" Edsall.

Oregon/UCLA discussion thread? UCLA is 6-6. Well for a few more minutes anyway. Oregon has played like trash tonight.

I don't. I hate it when schools have better academics AND a better football team than mine. Stupid Stanford.

Whatever, Gerry DiNardo was 5-6 at Vanderbilt and parlayed that into the LSU head coaching job.

I'm glad the administration is finally investing in the football program. Would like to see the men's BB program improve, we lost to Louisville in OT tonight.

A bowl game in his first season at Vandy is nothing to scoff at. I'd like to see Vandy do well, but only because I find the Vols fans I know annoying and a successful Vandy may help shut them up.

/not likely though

Tough to stay focused when you're playing a team you could beat with your reserves and it's not like you're going to improve your standing.

Yeah you could hardly blame them at the time, Edsall was a hot commodity and hes still a damn fine coach.

Since 1987, 11 of the [SEC]'s 12 schools have been found guilty of a major NCAA violation in football. The 12th is Vanderbilt. - Sports Illustrated, September 2011.

More power to the only honest school in the most douchebaggerific conference in all of sports.

Vandy should have won 8 or 9...they lost some close ones....and got so screwed by the refs vs Florida that those refs definitely had money on the Gators.

Congrats to the Commodores...and may they continue to have winning seasons

with the way Franklin is trying to pick fights with every other team in the SEC I gotta feeling he is looking at a lot of beat downs 2012. He seems to be a very angry man.

Florida State is fundraising for an indoor practice facility. One of the reasons stated in the mailer was that it would help them complete in recruiting. I might have to give them 5 bucks, wouldn't want those recruits choose Vandy

I was less than enthused with some of their sloppy and bad play, but my enthusiasm was restored when I knew that I was going to the Rose Bowl.

/something positive about Vandy

You guys had 8 chances to win last night.

If you're Danny Hope, TicketCity Bowl and another season.

But hey, UCLA gets a bowl at 6-7.

Sorry, but 1-20 all-time against ranked teams isn't 'damn fine'. Edsall is a blowhard and a my way or the highway dictator. I'm sure the record will improve, but with the transfers and loss of fan interest, this guy won't last 2 more years. Maryland didn't need a guy to rebuild the program - they went 9-4 the year before AND had the ACC coach of the year. But with a new president and AD comes the 'I need to prove everyone how good I am' attitude, and thus why a mediocre Edsall who got lucky one year in the Big East, with WVU losing twice, getting a 6 year $12 million deal.
Hell, the Big East champion Huskies last year lost to Vandy, Iowa State and Western Michigan. 2 perennial doormats in their respective conferences, and a directional school from Michigan.

No they don't. One of their wins was vs a FCS team, was it not?

About damn time. i've been to a few nighttime Vandy games. High school lighting is better and Vandy's "jumbotron" is about like watching a 13 inch tube tv from 20 feet away. I bet the facilities improvements were encouraged or forced by the SEC. Vandy was doing nothing to improve the place while accepting millions off the backs of the other SEC football schools.

Yes they do. From ESPN Recap: The Bruins were granted permission this week from the NCAA to accept a bowl invitation despite their losing record.

Mike Sherman was 6-6 at A&M and found out he got fired while on a recruiting trip...guess he chose the wrong school to coach for.

You can count 1 win vs. and FCS school. Any more don't count.

Yes, dastardly villains spending that football money on academic scholarships instead of bribing Cam Newton!

VU!

/Received some of that football money to be able to go to Vanderbilt
