Romney is getting desperate. He needs to up his game if he's going to beat Gingrich, who is calling Obama the "Food Stamp President"

Look forward to Romney mentioning "Welfare Queens" and "Shiftless, marijuana smoking negroes"

Yeah, I can't imagine how tough it'll be for Obama to explain away 8.6% unemployment.

All he has to do to beat Gingrich is let out enough rope for him to hang himself with.

That plus let third party PACs run nonstop attack ads pointing out that his ethical problems, starting with the fact that he was the first Speaker in history who was forced out of Congress for ethics violations.

2011-12-02 02:15:56 PM
He's slipping. The spin should be (and will soon be):

"This is due to the Republicans taking over the House and their hard work." Then start dropping names of House members from key states.

Remember, folks, anything bad that happens in the economy this country is Obama's fault, anything good is due to the GOP.

Correct. It will be ascribed to the 'relentless focus on jobs' by house congressmen and named 'the tea-party recovery'.

and people will believe it.

these people deserve exactly what they're going to get.

Nope. (new window)

Cain's star has burned out, Gingrich has that potentially looming over his head, Romney is a notorious flip-flopper... I really have no idea at this point who is likely to get the nom.

:-/

/granted, Gingrich did help with balancing the federal budget

I keep hoping that Huntsman will come out of nowhere and get the nom. Does he have any ethics/moral scandals or anything lurking in the background?

I think that we're missing the bigger point here: it's actually fairly easy to put perfume on a pig.

Lipstick: hard.
Perfume: easy.

Doesn't Romney know anything about making farm animals sexually attractive? How does he expect to win Iowa?

He once miss heard a T-Mobile Commercial jingle. He only tithed 9% one year. He accepts anthropocentric climate change.

Here's the way it works: If unemployment numbers go down, it is because of Obama and his policies. If the unemployment numbers go up, it's because we have a flawed method of measuring unemployment.

It's actually pretty simple.

Private Sector job creation/loss since the beginning of the recession. Bush is Red, Obama is blue. Looks like steady (if a bit slow) progress out of a very deep hole.

There are many, many factors. Maybe some people gave up looking for work, maybe some people found temporary seasonal jobs, maybe things really are getting better in the long run, and so on and so forth.

The great thing is that there are so many factors at play and it's such a complicated issue that it's incredibly easy to pick and choose the factors that you want to focus on, make political hay from it, and score points for your team.

It's the game of dishonest bullshiat that the whole family can play!

They make fun of Obama for using the teleprompter. Romneybot is a walking teleprompter with speech software built in. He had been pre-programmed with those talkingpoints and he was going regurgitate them in no matter what. Look at the Jon Stewart thread below where he can't even answer a personal question like "What's the last book you read?" without using a pre-programmed line.

U6 dropped over a point in November. That's everyone, unemployed, under-employed, and not even looking.

Blahhh blahh blahh people who gave up
Blahhh blahh blahh the underemployed
Blahhh blahh blahh gub'ment jobs.

Truth is the way the jobless rate is calculated has not changed since the last President. It's apples to apples.

Three facts: Private sector employment has gone up every month for quite a while, the unemployment rate has dropped to it's lowest point in over 2 years, and GOP is NOT happy about this.
